Well I had my PATs yesterday and now I finally have a grasp on what I need to get in the house for after surgery.  I am just curious what kind of proteins are your favorites and/or what you survived on for the first few weeks.

Time is finally flying by!

I am 2 weeks today.  My tastes really changed post surgery.  I am using the IDS Whey Bullets grape is good, they are 42 gms of protein (I do 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm so they are absorbed).  I am also using the Max Protein - I love the chocolate you can heat it up and make "hot chocolate" out of it.  YUMMIE.  I was advanced to puree at 6 days out and everything except chicken has sat pretty well with me.  I had a list of things to try first and then advance to other things.  Good luck.

Congratulations!!!

Unjury Chocolate was my very favorite and I liked Nectar Roadside Lemonade but I had to mix in a Crystal Light to go for more flavor.

Just don't buy too much, your tastes really will change.

Have lots of water and sugar free popcicles around.

Best wishes to you!

Right after my surgery I couldn't stand anything too sweet, so even though I had loved all the Nectar proteins before, I couldn't stomach them for about a month after surgery.  I survived on the chocolate Max Protein, Syntha-6 strawberry milkshake, and Any Whey mixed in with broth or strained soup.

The other weird taste I had was that I couldn't stand the taste of water right after surgery.  I was able to drink Aquafina (which I believe is distilled) but the water from my Brita pitcher that I had always liked just fine tasted bad.  This went away too though, and now I'm back to liking my Brita water again.

I am almost a year out and I still enjoy the Nectar Sweete whey protein powder that I mix with skim milk.  They are the best tasting in my opinion and satisfy me till lunch.  I get them from wwwbariatriceating.com    Cottage cheese with applesauce is good too once you can have that.  Good luck!  HUGS  Jeanine
