Gym is Open (Tornado Thursday 10/23)

Tornado refers to the state of my veal pen.  I have pieces of grant contracts scattered throughout.  My boss asked how things were going, and I said, "I'm dogpaddling, but my head is still above water."  She was fine with that -- fall is the hectic time of year in the grant cycle.

I'm also tired.  I'd be less tired if I'd get to the #&$*! gym.  My brand spanking new Brooks Ariel shoes arrived today ($70, Sierra Trading Post online, sizes limited) and they fit like a glove.  I usually wear an 8.5, but after the Adrenelines pinched my feet like a vise grip, I decided since these were only available in a 9D, I'd give them a try.  Perfect!  Who knew they ran small?

I look foward to trying out my new shoes.

Probably no formal exercise, just brisk walking.

What did you do to move your body today?

Hey KIX,

I LOVE Sierra trading post!  I get my Teva's there.  I wear them all the time till there is atlest 6 inches of snow on the ground (with wooly socks when it's cold) so supportive.  I neeed to get some sneakers for winter though, now that I can walk :)

Freezing here now so I am taking the plunge and breaking out my traedmill (and hopefully not BREAKING it) It's weight limit is 250 and I am 330.  I tried to walk outside yesterday but BRRRRR.  33 degrees and snowing.  I am concerned about maintaining my walking schedule in the icier months.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

I managed 15 mins on the elliptical this morning as I was running through the gym with my hair on fire..... sometimes I really hate being on-call...... LOL

Walked in the AM and tonight is one hour of water aerobics.

Hopefully the pool won't be freezing ass cold like it was Tuesday night, made it rather miserable!

Have fun with those new shoes! I was just thinking I'm about due for some new workout shoes, I wore mine into the ground this summer.

Today was weights day - I'm trying to do weights 2 times a week, I didn't have time to do them at all this summer and want to get back to them. It wasn't too bad, just harder than I remember

It's nice being on a schedule again - I've been so out of whack with training for this or that race that honestly I didn't know which way I was going half the time. I did sign up for some running races this winter but those are pretty low key and will hopefully keep me motivated and not overwhelmed.

Have a great day everyone!

I need some new shoes soon too - I usually buy a new pair every January.

I walked a lot at work today, and then also took a long walk when I got home this evening. I had a fight with my husband and had to walk off some frustration (or eat a lot of chocolate). I'd guess I walked about two miles.

I plan to start back to weight training like PJ - if my wrist will accomodate that. I'm gonna give it some more time first and just do leg machines.
