What's everyone doing this weekend?
Well, let's see, today we went to see "The Drowsy Chaperone," which turned out way better than I expected. I thought it would be a stupid 20s musical, but it was far more than that, and very entertaining.
After the theater, we had an early dinner at Bubba Gumps. That place could become an addiction if I could afford it! Yum! It cost $65 for the two of us, but I didn't feel cheated. I had shrimp, shrimp, and did I mention I had shrimp? My sister had the cajun catfish and I sampled some of it. It was quite tasty, moist and tender, and the salsa that went with it was outstanding. She gobbled the serving of rice that came with it, and I was surprised because she doesn't like rice that isn't fried.
We were going to come home and try out the new version of Monopoly we bought (world edition), but my sister was too tired, We also ran a bunch of errands prior to going to the theater, and she worked from home prior to our leaving the house, so I don't blame her for being tired.
I'm not sure what's in the cards for tomorrow. We need to go to Costco for mass quantities of protein. I really need a new pair of shoes, too. The weather is unseasonably nice, so maybe I can talk her into something fun. We'll see.
Monday is back to work, and back to my exercise routine before I get too fat to leave the house. I am obviously not burning enough calories.

Well it was a pretty busy weekend here. We are like teenagers since our son moved to California!
Friday night we went to the fair and saw two old eighties bands...Slaughter and Dokken. Slaughter was ok, they didn't have enough hits to make a difference, but Dokken was good and I recognized a lot more of their music. A cold front moved through and we were freezing our butts off! I had a giant BBQ potato. It was the biggest potato I've ever seen with butter, sour cream, cheese and bbq pulled pork. Everything at the fair is so expensive, but this was $6 ... not too bad. I ate all the pork off of it and probably about 5 bites of the potato. Of course, Karl ate the potato and was stuffed. Later he got a footlong corn dog and I had 3 bites of that. They just don't taste like I remember. But then again, I believe I just stuffed food in my mouth because I could. And he bought me a caramel apple w/nuts before we went home and I ate all the caramel off of the apple. That's my big treat for the week!
Saturday we got up and drove to Mobile AL (about 45 minute drive from here) in the convertible. It was a gorgeous day to have the top down. We went to burlington coat factory and bought Karl some new clothes. I found 2 Jones New York shirts for $10 a piece and bought a necklace too. We stopped at an open air mall (I just love those!) and went to Williams and Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Lane Bryant and Barnes and Noble. I didn't buy anything else. I just hate to want to shop and not find anything.
That night we went to Karl's sister's house for a grilled steak. It was overcooked. It just amazes me to see people complain about their weight and then eat an 20 oz steak, giant potato and garlic bread. We bought two ribeyes (total weight 20 oz) and I ate 1/2 of my steak, two pieces of broccoli and 1/4 of a 6'' sweet potato. I haven't been over Karl's sister's house in about 4 months and they were surprised that was all that I ate. But to listen to people complain about their weight. My tendency is to shake my head, but then the realistic side of me remembers making much worse choices than that! I need to remember the grace that people afforded me when I was huge!
Today, I should be working on a speech for Communications class tomorrow, but no...I'm sitting here on OH! We are having white bean chili for dinner tonight with italian sausage. We are watching football and doing laundry too. Went to the grocery story and dropped $200! But we haven't been in about 6 weeks either. That doesn't help much.

Busy weekend here -
Saturday morning was out of the house by 6AM to volunteer for our meat co-op. I was in charge of fish and got done early, so got to leave by 10AM.
Off to Mom's then to stock her freezer with meat, and change her dressing. On the way home stopped for dim sum takeout. Took it to my brothers ( he was busy painting his house) and left 3/4 of it there. Went home and ate lunch, yummy.
Sat afternoon we picked up hubbies parents and went to a car show/music festival for a few hours.
Sunday out to breakfast (hubby and I shared), stopped at Trader Joes on the way home, cleaned house, put a roast in the crock pot for dinner, and then went to get Mom to go to my brothers for a Home and Garden Party. Got home after 5PM and was so glad dinner was done!
I did a few loads of laundry and then collapsed.
Got to say I was glad to see Monday so I could rest some at work ...lol!
