My trip

Well traveling at 250ish lbs is a lot easier than 440lbs. The seatbelts on the plane finally buckled... barely... it was a serious amount of effort but I got them all closed. The plane seats and the plane in general felt a lot bigger and I wasn't sweating my way through any airports.

Seeing Ryan's family was okay - better than expected but still a bit of a chore. I really enjoyed getting to know his aunt better though as I'd only met her briefly before. We had some opportunities to talk and it was nice, she is a sweet lady. Her wedding was lovely, and oh my goodness they have a big family!!

My dress was too big. Quite a bit too big. I used a copious number of safety pins to make it fit better. I also danced. In public. Quite a lot. That was a lot of fun and I felt confident being out there which was different from the past, to say the least.

I met Estelle on Saturday, and her husband Jerry. They are both great fun and it was nice to blow off some steam with them. We had breakfast with my husband and then he went back to family obligations while we wandered the mall and then had lunch. Estelle is a skinny minnie these days!

The leaves were in full color and Ryan and I escaped to Letchworth State Park for a while, which was quite pretty. I don't know how any of my pictures from the trip turned out yet as I haven't uploaded them to my computer, but I hope to have some pretty landscapes tucked in there.

I enjoyed it pretty well and tried to keep positive and open minded. I did feel like his family treated me a lot different after losing weight, but I'm not sure if that's true. I got a lot of compliments at the wedding from people who had never met me - being pretty and a nice smile and all of that stuff. It was a nice ego boost to hear people tell Ryan he'd done well picking me :)

That about covers it. I'm glad to be back, although a few more days would have been nice. I cried at the wedding and hearing the vows and readings and everything made me re-examine what I want out of a marriage, which isn't exactly what I am getting. So it was a little bittersweet.

Now back to the grind. Everything at work fell apart in my absence.

Sounds like you had a great time!  Although you had to use lots of safety pins for that dress, wasn't it nice for it to be tooooooo big instead of snug or tight?  I have had a wedding where I didn't think the dress would make it through.

It is wonderful to get away, but you understand how they need you at work.  Seems like everything always falls apart!

Glad all went well!

I'm glad you had a pretty good time.  I look forward to having the problem with the loose clothing!  Just wait until next time you fly, you won't have any trouble at all!

Glad you're back!

I wish you would have had a better time!  You were so looking forward to this trip and it sounded like kind of a let down for you.  But look at it this way, you got to experience the changing leaves, didn't have to use a seatbelt extended, and my biggest fear was always having to run through the airport to catch a connecting flight - that would have been so much easier for you at your current weight.

I would totally recommend some  counselling regarding your marriage.  You've gone through such a big change with your weight loss and the change in lifestyle, eating, exercising, and just general mobility.  From what you've shared about your husband, it doesn't sound like he's a big talker, but I could be mistaken.

Work will get better...just clench your teeth together and make it happen.  I know that's the kind of person you are!

Here's to a positive weight result on the scale after your trip!

What gave you that impression?  I think she pretty much stated it was nice, had fun & met some great people.. Did I miss something??? LOL  Jen is a very smart cookie and appears to me to be a good communicator. I'm sure a marriage counselor would be a last resort.  Jeanine

Sounds like a nice trip, Jen, esp. getting to spend time with Estelle and the leaves in full fall color.  I look forward to seeing some of your pictures when you have time to get them online - you really have a great eye for photography....
