Wanted: Refreshed Motivation
Now that I've started a new job that doesn't allow the flexibility I had in my previous job, I've lost a little of my motivation. Unfortunately I can eat sugar and the "bad" carbs without any dumping effect, and I feel like I can eat more than I should be able to. The motivation to exercise daily has waned as well because I run all day at work, and after work with the family activities and am exhausted a.k.a. lazy when I finally get home. Sadly I find myself falling back on these old excuses that got me to where I was in the first place, and I do NOT want to backtrack. When all of this started I was gung-ho to do all things 100% correctly and I have lost almost 100 pounds and several clothes sizes. Right now I guess what I need is some motivation, u-rah-rah reminders to refocus and stay in the fight. Tonight I'm going back to support group which will help me get reconnected - so that's a good first step I hope.
I'm the same way, if I wait till the end of the day I'm just not going to make the effort to work out...... so I get up an hour early and get it done..... I look at it as my ME time..... it's actually a quiet spot in a hectic day that I really really need.....

Hopefully your local support group meeting helped you get on track! About 6 weeks ago I was going through the same thing. I found myself testing the wwaters a bit more and not execising as fiercely as I was.
I did that for about a week and felt miserable because I was disappointed with myself. I made a commitment ot make exercise a part of my daily life and was slacking off on it. I took my doc's advice to heart that I needed to exercise 5 days a week to get to my goal. I've found that I have a really slow metabolism and I wonder where I'd be without the exercise.
I would vote on getting up earlier to get to the gym. I found if I don't and have plans to go later in the day, about 75% of the time I don't make it. First thing in the morning sounds like it would be the best for you as well.
As far as the carbs, you've got to get back to the habit of eating your protein first. And measure everything and track your calories. You really don't know what you are eating unless you track it somehow. If you are going to eat carby stuff, tracking them will help you keep on track. If you are going to follow the rules of your surgeon at all times, then tracking isn't so important.
Listen, 95 pounds is awesome and you just need to re-center and re-focus. You've done 95 pounds so far and you can do the rest too!

Thank you all so much! Sometimes a little reminder and friendly push is all we need right? Support group last night was great as well as it reminded me that there's a group of us in this together. Getting a reminder that I have to put myself first for my health was a great kick in the behind. Congrats to all of us; it's great to have the OH family!
