Help! I'm having trouble...
I am 10 weeks out from Lap RNY. As of eight weeks, I felt I had been doing well and I had lost a total of 50 pounds. Two weeks ago I had to go out of town to work for three days, last week I went out of town for two more days, my whole routine was thrown off and I gained back 5 pounds! I've only managed to lose 2 of them in two weeks! I am a property appraiser for the state and when I'm out in the field I'm driving around looking at houses, walking around construction sites and such. I was not able to drink my normal two liters a day, and I found it hard once I got back home to get back to my routine. I did okay eating on the road, there was a great little bakery that makes their soup from scratch! I had the best chicken and white bean chili! The one and only thing I did was get a salt craving and I ate a bag of Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar Chips...one each week! AAGGGHHH! Help! I feel like I'm on a downward spiral and I won't be able to get back on track!
Somebody slap me please!! lol. Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic, I'll be back in the office come Tuesday for the foreseeable future so I'm sure I'll get back into my routine. I'm hoping by the next time we have to go out in the field for a few days I'll be more adept at handling my diet.
So what do you think it was that had me gaining the weight back? the lower volume of fluid? the salty no-no food? just a plateau?
Oh, one other thing, I started drinking one cup of coffee every morning about two weeks ago too.....hmmm....do you think that has anything to do with this? I do use Hazelnut coffee creamer.....the regular stuff... I didn't think the fat and sugar in it was that much, and I haven't had a problem with it...unless this is my problem with it, and in that case I do have a problem with it, a big problem............
I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions!
Diane
Find ways when you travel to stay true. You should always have a water bottle with you at all times. Whether you are travelling or at home. Mine stays with me and when it's not with me, I fall short on fluids. Fluids are so important!
Take protein bars with you. Kay's natural protein snacks fill the crunch need. Watch the sodium. Eat protein first before anything else when you eat. You know the rules...just get back to them.
Thanks Ladies for all the advice! I do know what I have to do, so I will do it!
I think part of my problem with not getting all the fluids in while we are out there especially where we were, (The Yellowstone Club- it's a playground for the rich and famous), there are only porta-potties to go in. And as you all know, for someone my size they are a very last, last , last resort. I'd rather go out in the woods. But that is frowned upon up there with the rich folk.
So, I didn't want to drink too much so I could limit my bathroom trips to one at lunch and when we were done for the day.
Thankfully, it'll be another year before I have to go there again!
It's actually quite beautiful up there, check it out www.theyellowstoneclub.com !
