Do I have an issue???

My hightest was 458.  I had surgery on Monday and was at 444.  I came home Wednesday night weighing in at 450.  Today, I am 422.

My dr has me on clear liquids s --- usually 7-10 days...and then full.  My followup is next monday--so i'd be on clear for14 days.  While I am currently bored, i don't have an issue with what i am eating right now.

I am getting down about 40-50 in protein, as well as jello cups, popsicles, and i'd say about 40 of water, though i am trying. I can get down anything...i am tring to do the one or two oz/hr the dr said.

A friend of mine that is a nurse, thinks i should have the dr put me on full liqauids and i am losing too much, too quick?

Thoughts...

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

I wish i had this problem!!! lol
i lost 12 pounds the first week  not including the 9 pounds of hospital gain.  in the 3 weeks since then i've only lost 15 more pounds.  i guess i slowed down once i started eating more solid food.  my surgeon said 27 pounds a month is good, but i wi**** was higher.

A lot of any initial weight loss is fluids.  You can call your surgeons office if you are concerned, but I would not be too concerned.  Do work each day on getting in more liquids.  Good luck, Loris

I also had the VSG. i think the more you have to lose then initially you lose faster.

My highest (2 weeks prior to surgery) was 347, day of surgery I was 332 and I am now 304 (almost 3 wks out).

My dh was also very concerned about the amount of weight I was losing, but my doctor was not concerned. I would call your doctor though if you are still concerned.

Too much? No way, your doing great! Sometimes the more you have to lose the faster it comes off.

There will be a day when you wish you were losing as much as you are now. Take it all while you can.

Congratulations and best wishes to you!

The only thing I can say is..

Please Please Please follow your doctor's order. This is his specialty and he knows best.

If you have any questions.. give their office a call and speak wtih one of the nurses. Until then just do as they say.
