Hungries
Hello all
I need some advice please, 9 days post-op not supposed to have any foods except protein drinks provided by surgeon office, not sleeping well even with the ambien, getting my water in but still wanting solid food like soft scrambled eggs or yogart, something other than liquid. I dont want fried chicken or junk food just want a couple of bites of regular baked fish (normal food). Sorry dont want to complain just need some feedback, I emailed my nut., but no response as of yet.
Thanks Margaret

From what I've seen, every doc is different in their instructions, both pre- and post-op. It's best to follow YOUR docs instructions. How about making your shake with a lot of crushed ice and then eating it with a spoon like a smoothie?
How soon is your next appt? If it is a ways out, I'd call and ask if you could try some soft foods like soft scrambled eggs, yogurt or SF pudding. Maybe it would be OK to add some yogurt to a protein shake - but ask first.

Every doctor is different. I was on soft foods for 2 weeks then another layer was added after my 10 day checkup with chicken, fish, etc.
Even with the soft food, it got old. I still haven't been able to eat albacore tuna since my 6 week checkup. I ate it every day for lunch and got SICK of it!
I hope you get some relief and answers tomorrow

try sf posicles. i'm 5 weeks out and still would rather have a pop than a meal most of the time. put ice and crystal light in the blender and make a slushie. it really helped me get through that time post op. i couldn't have anything red for a couple of weeks so the choices were slim but now i can. hawaiian punch makes sugar free packets too and they are wonderful in a slushie. you don't wanna try anything before your new tummy is ready cuz it can be bad.
