New here

Hi all i've been reading this board for quite a while now and figured that i should introduce myself. My name is Elisa and i'm from Canada, i will be having my surgery in Seattle on Oct 28. My BMI is 62 so i know that this is the right forum for me. This is one site that i do feel comfortable on as everyone understands what others are going through. I think that surrounding yourself with others that are facing the same challenges you are is the best way to keep on track. At least for myself. I hope to be on here more and learn all i can. Elisa

Hi Elisa and welcome! This is a great board - everyone is incredibly supportive. The folks here have gone through experiences that WLS "lightweights" will never understand. After reading Estelle's post the other day, I've resolved to blog more often so I can look back and remember life as a SMO person. I don't want to forget, because if I do, it will be too easy to backslide.

I'm so inspired by those who have gone before us.

Best wishes on your surgery.  I started out at 460 lbs. and am now over 200 lbs. lighter. 

We are all moving over to make room for you on the loser's bench.

I'm also from Canada - but way east in Ottawa.
Having my surgery in NY on Nov 5.
Good luck and ask anything you want, they don't sugarcoat answers but try to answer everything - details.

Hi Elisa!  Congratulations on your surgery date.  I too am pre op right now with a bmi of about 58 and I am getting surgery on nov 4.  I look forward to going on this journey with other friends.
