I don't know what your pre-op diet consists of but for me, I was allowed food at night so that got me through until morning.  Also, I drank tons of crystal light and water.  The first few days are rough.  For me it was about day 5 or 6 that I truly was not very hungry and was no longer anticipating the next meal.  Additionally, protein drinks do really fill you up - it is usually head hunger you are fighting.  Just keep your mind on the prize - the LOSERS bench!  Good Luck

My pre-op diet was 2 weeks of nothing but liquid - to say the least it sucked!

It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but I made up my mind I was going to stick to it. My DR had told me before I started if I was going to cheat at all he wanted me to get a piece of the very hardest beef jerky (pure protein) I could find, then slowly chew on it. I did this twice in the two weeks when I was miserable.

The purpose of the liquid diet is to shrink your fatty liver, makes it easier on you and easier for the DR to do surgery.

Best wishes to you on your journey. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! It's all for a better you!

OMG~  I didn't have to do anything except stop all foods and non water liquids one day pre op, then drink a bottle of sodium whatszit that made me poop the universe!  I didn't know you guys had to do two weeks!  Woah.  Is that to shrink your liver?  I was on strict south beach 10 months pre op so they  probably used that to get mine shrunk.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

I know its hard.  I also had to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks.  Yes it did suck, and at first I got hungry but then after about 5 days, I was fine with it.  I just kept thinking about how much I hated being fat, how tired I was of trying to diet and never being able to keep it off.  Like the others said keep your eye on the prize.  Wish I could give you a big hug and let you know we are all with you.  Just come to the boards and read read read.  Join us, you can do it.   Now, smile and take a deep breath, close your eyes and picture yourself thin and doing something you always dream of doing but can't right now.  Don't forget girl, we are here for you.  Have a fabulous evening.
