chemical stress test help

Can anyone tell me where I can find a cardiologist to accomodate a 500 lb patient for a chemical stress test in NJ/PA? I'm having trouble finding a suitbale doctor/office/hospital. Surely I can't be the first one to have had this problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction? It seems that most will only go up to 350 pounds or so (because of the tables they use, apparently. I'm in New Jersey, but will go anywhere in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area that can acommodate me.
Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried asking in the PA or NJ forums? I know we have a few folks who pop in and out from the Philly / NJ area. Or are you closer to Stroudsburg? I grew up in State College, PA.

Your question got me curious, as I had a similar situation recently - I needed a bone density scan and I was too big for the table. In my case, they were able to substitute a wrist scan, but I think we all know your frustration.

Anyway, I love to Google. Most of the hits I got had a weight limit of 300 or 350. I did find one in the mid west that went to 500 lbs.

Not that you would want to travel there, but maybe you could email the hospital and ask what company made the equipment. Then email that company for an installation in your area?

Best of luck in your quest.

Drew,

PM me.  I was 460 lbs at the surgery time.  I had my surgery done at Pennsylvania Hospital.  They have the equipment.  PM me any questions you have.
