Update on me

Sorry I havent posted in a few days, but as I was going through my emotional breakdown over my surgeon with a bad attitude, something interesting happened.  I was all upset and got the name of a duodenal surgeon on the other side of France.  I emailed him thinking he would not call me back.  Well he did!  He is a very well known and thought of surgeon in France, and has had lots of experience operating on  the morbidly obese.  He was so very wonderfully nice.
He is going to let me use all the results from the tests I have already had, and send me a prescription for anything else he wants done.  I know this will change my surgery date, but I cant tell you how relieved I am that I dont have to use the other surgeon.  I am sure he was a good surgeon, but he showed me nothing that told me he was up to date with all of it, and this other doctor volunteered what he had done and what he was going to do, and then there was him being an asshole thing that I didnt like.

Anyway. OMG!!  I am in  control of my life!!!    Thank you everyone for the messages and well wishes.  It means so much to me to know that I am cared about.

The new doctor sounds great!  I'm so glad that you decided to switch to someone that you were more comfortable with.  I hope that the rest of your process goes quickly and smoothly.

That's great news. That other surgeon sounds like he needs a refresher in bed-side manners. I'm glad you stood up for yourself and have something that you are more comfortable with. Yay!

oh that is such wonderful news! this whole experience can be challenging enough without having issues with the surgeon on whom you are relying. i'm very glad that you've found someone else.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement.  We are trying to figure out exactly how we will do it.  I think pretty much we will have to rent a car for a week (very expensive in france) drive to chalons en champagne and the kids and my husband rent a suite for a week or so.  There is one I found that is a basic suite but its only like 87 euro a nite.  Hopefully my mom will come through with an early Christmas present.   Will let you know when I know more.
