Surgery to remove part of the stomach and hopefully all the stomach cancer is scheduled for Friday the 19th.

Mom just went for her yearly check-up with the cancer DR - she had bladder cancer (unrelated to this new cancer) about 7 years ago.

Dr said everything looked great and healthy just like normal. He talked to her about her stomach cancer and told her she had the very best surgeon, he was the guy he'd want operating on him if need be.

He also told her he thought she needed to go find the ER DR that admitted her and kiss him. Because of him and the tests he ordered he says they found her stomach cancer very, very early.

He told her he thinks she will be just fine. He says the spot is an inch in size.

It was the very positive news that she needed to hear right now!

Blessed be, what fantastic news.  When you and your Mom track down that ER doc, give him a kiss for me too.  It's strange how things like this happen -

I will continue to keep you and your Mom in my thoughts and prayers, Jan.  Lots of love and positive energy coming your way -

He was a cutie- one you'd like to give more than one kiss too! I might have to give him a few as thanks from everyone! ;) Wonder if my hubby would mind?

Glad to hear that your mother has a good prognosis.

I would go one step farther with the ER doctor and write a letter of appreciate to the hospital to be placed in his personnel file.  It's so nice to get that kind of recognition and it encourages the hospital to continue staffing the ER with mindful, competent physicians.

What great news - very reassuring after all the low points recently for her. Wishing you and your mom all the best.
