I was a pretty good girl last night out with my friends.  Had 8 chips with salsa and then 2 shrimp quesadillas but only ate the guts out of them.  The shrimp were, I would guess the 41/60 size and it was so good!

B - SBD Protein Bar
S - Syntrax Strawberry Kiwi Protein shake sample size
L - greek yogurt w/fresh blueberries
S - NSA chocolate covered soy nuts
D - grilled pork chop and perhaps edamame.
They've been in my freezer and I've not had the guts to try them yet.  I've got to figure out how to cook them too.  I hope I like the edamame!
S - NSA fudgesicle
2 SBD Tide me over drinks for fiber and small extra protein

Protein 71g / Calories 804 / Fiber 21g

I am going to focus on fiber as I am back on my water pills.  This time my primary doc prescribed Maxide which does not suppress potassium as the HCTZ did.  Constipation is the worst thing in my book.  I feel like a slug when I'm not regular.

Calories look really low, so depending upon if I can eat any more, I may add some turkey breast to the menu before I go to bed.

Edamame is yummy - very fresh and green :) I prefer to cook them in the pod and then salt liberally and squeeze them out into your mouth. That's how you get them in Japanese restaurants. If I'm putting it into a salad or soup though, I buy them already hulled because its easier.

Ok, it's official!  I like edamame.  I'll have to buy it out of the shell because it was a pain to shell them.

I haven't played in a while, so thought I'd jump in today.  Here's my plan:

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker weight control oatmeal

Snack #1:  1 c. low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. SF preserves, 2 oz. blueberries

Snack #2:  maybe a medium banana - sometimes skipping this snack

Lunch:  Lean Cuisine hunan beef w/ veggies/rice

Snack #3:  either 6 oz. light yogurt w/ 1/3 c. Allbran buds or a Pure Protein bar (will depend on what I'm in the mood for)

Snack #4:  1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 slices smoked turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese

Dinner:  4 oz. broiled salmon, whatever veggie I can find

Snack:  probably a Mike's Light hard lemonade

Anyway, that's my plan - we'll see how much of it I manage to eat.  Although I'm doing better most days, I've got ups and downs, and I have very little interest in food these days.  I'm mostly making myself eat because I have surgery in 3 weeks and know that I have to keep my nutrition up.  It's very interesting to have reached a point where I no longer instantly turn to food for comfort....  Although frankly it was much easier to drown my sorrows in a pint of Ben & Jerry's than it is to face things honestly!  But I know this is a much healthier approach than a pint of Chubby Hubby :-)

I've been wondering where you've been.  Sounds like stressful times for you.  I hope you are able to find things to do that help relieve that stress so that you are mentally prepared for your big endeavor in a few weeks.  Positive thoughts are coming your way!  ~Clinell

Thanks, Clinell!  Things have been stressful, but I'm taking things "one day at a time"; figure that's all any of us can really do anyway.  I appreciate the positive thoughts - it's nice to know folks are thinking of me -

Hope you are doing well!!!
