Terpenoid Tuesday, what are you eating?

So far  I have had about 3/4 of a bacon and egg taquito from Whataburger.

S - protein shake w/ mootopia

L - half a pita filled with hummus and turkey (my new fave thing in the whole world)

S - protein shake w/ mootopia

D -  1 whole grain tortilla made into a steak quesadilla w/ leftover steak, roasted green chile, carmelized onions, and cheese. Some avocado and tomato on the side.

Its kind of a carby day.

Pre B - the typical SF NF Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte

S - rice crackers, dried persimmon (yummy NSA from the Farmers market)

L - Dim Sum so who knows, going with the Chinese girls at work - OK, so I tried chicken feet, didn't care for it but I tried it!

S - ?

D - steak, mushrooms, sliced tomato

S - maybe banana protein ice cream

Ok, I had to look up that word!  I thought it was another type of dinosaur.

B - SBD Protein bar
L - sausage/cabbage soup / mixed green salad w/blue cheese crumbles and pine nuts
S - protein shake to make up for pitiful protein-lacking lunch
D - something mexican - perhaps shrimp quesadilla w/o tortilla

 OK - give me the scoop.  How do you eat the quesadilla without eating the tortilla?  I was at a Mexican restuarant for lunch and wanted a quesadilla but avoided it because of the tortilla.

I eat the tortilla, but petty much only make them at home. I use one whole Mission Plus! tortilla and fold it in half. It has some protein, but more importantly A LOT of fiber. Its also good for tortilla pizzas. At a restaurant I will usually pull the filling out of most of it and pile it on top of one piece so I get a little tortilla but not the whole thing. In case you hadn't noticed though, I don't avoid carbs much anymore. I did at first, but I find my blood sugar stays a little more stable and my energy is better if I have some carbs. I just try to make them GOOD carbs, like beans, whole grains, dairy, fruit, and veggies. I don't do white carbs like crackers, pasta, or rice very often at all and if I do they are all the whole grain version. I eat a great deal of dairy, much more often than I did before surgery.

Optimally I aim for 35-45% protein, 25-30% carbs and fats each day. Most people say about 40% protein works best for weight loss.

Yeah, I had to look too. I thought it had to do with turtles. Way to work in those vocabulary words, Jenn!

B - blueberry oatmeal
S - choc shake
L - chicken & rice soup
S - orange cream shake
S - smore's bar (if my shipment arrives) or shake
D - snapper if it is still OK, otherwise I may defrost a steak, broccoli
S - pudding

Nah, not a dinosaur. Sadly it was the only T word I could think of at the time - I was messing around the a metabolic pathway yesterday that involved a few terpenoid precursors and its been in my head since. I picture the NOID from Dominoes, perturbed.

He-he!  I forgot about the Noid!  When that commercial was popular, I had a whole class (130) of kids that reminded me of the Noid----'noyed me on a daily basis!

Bkfst:  SB bar/coffee
2nd brkfst:  skipped Carb Master Yogurt so I had nothing!
Lunch:  2 turkey/cheese roll ups/pineappleSFjello cup/100 cal cookie bag
Snack:  AchievOne
Dinner:  1 C burrito casserole w/ avocado, lettuce, salsa, sc
Snack:  Oh Yeah 45 gram bar
