I had I surgery on wed 1230pm. came home on friday I cant believe how good I feel  a little pain when I get up sometimes when I eat but its getting better I thought it was going to be worseThe surgen said they didnt have trouple intabatind Deintabating . Surgery went a planned . I remember in recovery room feeling a lot of pain in my chest are and said to the nurse Not enough air ????? not sure Kinda fuzzy on those details woke up in my room about 530-630 when my daughter and my friend camein and kinda drifted in and out until 10-11 then I was awake. I tried to go to the washroom about 830pm but got too dizzy and started dry heaving so that didnt happen the nurses tried to get me to just pee in a pan or even on an diper couldnt do it.  but finally at 1130 I wnt pee .  Then I got some pain killer   if it wasnt for them taking blood preasure diabeties cks and what ever elseI would of slept through the night but I have to applaud them they took good care of me was not impressed with the hospital it self the washroom shower area was a joke

Glad you made it through surgery well.  I do not know much about the gastric bypass so I cannot help you out, but I just wanted to let you know I was happy to hear you were out and fine.

Congratulations on your surgery - it sounds like you are doing great! Take a seat on the loser's bench - there's plenty of room. Glad to see you posting again.

I haven't had surgery yet myself, but I've heard folks say that gas afterward is very common, esp. if your surgery was lap. Something about pumping the abdomen full of air so there's more room to maneuver around in there. That's my unscientific explanation ....

congrats on your surgery and wonderful recovery.   I had my surgery on the 26th of august.  I had very little pain also and was pleasantly surprised.  I guess they tell you to expect the worst just in case.  my worst complaint after surgery was about 5 days of diarrhea.  I didnt have all the gas but i did have pretty bad abdominal cramps.   I just got back from a weekend with my girlfriends.  It was hard when we went out to dinner to a japanese steakhouse and all i got to eat was broth but i survived my first dining out with others experience and it wasn't too bad.  the food smelled wonderful and i did want to eat but i knew i couldn't and that was ok.  good luck with your recovery and keep us posted on your weight loss!!

Congrats on making it through the surgery!  Sounds like you are doing well.  The gas is from the surgery and it will pass quite a bit as time goes on.  Of course, excess gas may be an ongoing problem.  If I eat too fast, I belch like a sailor.
