Go Away Gustav!
I am requesting that my fellow forum friends who are prayerful please pray for South Louisiana as it looks like Mr. Gustav is heading our way. He is expected to make landfall in Terrebonne Parish. This is the parish I work in and can attest - needs NO more water. I live in Terrebonne's neighboring parish and it looks like the eye wall is large enough that we are going to be affected just the same as Terrebonne.
We are not evacuating. My grandmother refuses to leave her children behind and they don't leave. So, we are gathering at my sister's house this evening to hunker down and pray for the best. During Katrina I worked the shelters and spoke with many people who were ziplined off of their roofs and all I could think was 'my big tail would never ride a zipline' - good thing I lost 110 pounds .... might make riding the zipline easier if it comes to that - but pray it does not!

Oh, my goodness! If I remember my LA geography, isn't Terrebonne right on the Gulf?
I wish you were evacuating, but since you aren't, I will send fervent prayers that Gustav doesn't hammer you guys too hard.
This is why I preferred living in earthquake country -- no advance warning to get you all nervous, just BAM.

Ive been following Gustav for three days now....that suckers heading straight for you! Tell grandma she has no choice and get the heck out of dodge while you still can. After Katrina everyone should know...YOU DONT STAY FOR THESE THINGS. Please please PLEASE get your family and leave ASAP. What is the benifit of staying, why wont all the family leave so grandma will go too? Im praying for you and your family...please keep us posted and stay safe. If youre staying...at least make sure you have easy access to your attic and have an axe on hand....you may very well need it in the coming hours.

Wishing you good luck and safety!
