My doctors office submitted to my insurance for approval for my surgery last Tuesday. When do you think would be a good amount of time to wait and when should I try calling for an update? Should I call my doctor's office or my insurance?

Hi Trinity,  I would call after a week and check on the status of your pre-authorization.  Call your insurance company.  I did and I found out they needed more info from my PCP, then I called my PCP and had them fax over the needed paperwork.  I liked being involved and informed about the process, it was nervewracking having to wait and not know what was going on.
