Calorie Countdown - Freaky Friday, what are you eating?

Happy Friday. Mine could be happier, I had planned on going home to visit family for the holiday but my boss decided Wed that I should submit a manuscript to a conference... due Mon. Just SLIGHTLY last minute, so that's why I have been and will continue to be basically invisible here, at least for a few more days.

I have most of the text written and formatted into their pain in the ass format, now I've just got to finish the figures. If anyone is near Philly, I'll be up there for this conference the first week of November.

Here is my food for the day

B - Protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate, made with mootopia and ice) - it was THICK and sweet and sticky. I only made it halfway through and was sick of it.

S - 1/2 baked potato with chives, salt, and pepper

L - chicken salad with crackers and sliced tomatoes

S - banana dessert protein shake with mootopia

D - not sure, maybe lemon tea chicken with zucchini and tomatoes, or breakfast burritos, or a bean beef and rice style burrito. That is the stuff I have at home, other than 8 million containers of leftovers in the freezer

How about you? Food? Holiday plans?

Well it is full panic mode here in Louisiana.  I on the other hand do not get all worked up about a storm that MIGHT come here.  My only concern is that my stomach is so fickle and food can get slim in the aftermath of the storm.  I am afraid if Mr. Gustav comes this way I am going to be sick sick sick most of the time.  Prior to surgery I never really contemplated what I would do about food in the event of a storm.  Guess it wasn't anything I really had control over, so why worry - right?

Todays plan:

B - 1/2 nectarine
L - rotisserie chicken

Go get some tuna and some canned chicken breast if you can tolerate those.  They also have in some stores single serving salad dressing packets so that if you (we) lose power, you can moisten  your food without worrying about keeping something cold.  Also, not sure how you feel about RTD protein shakes, but the Slim Fast Low carb aren't bad and the EAS RTD aren't too bad either.  I only drink the shakes if I'm low on protein for the day which isn't often.  There's also the Isopure RTD fruit drinks (but I can't stand them and they are close to $3 each).

I didn't even think about my eating needs.  I know it looks like it's headed towards Louisiana, but I don't believe anything until those suckers get in the gulf of mexico.  Ivan was not supposed to come this way but guess what?  He did.

Funny, we are going to Orlando this weekend.  Maybe I'll get my hurricane supplies while I'm down there.  There won't be much of a run on that stuff in Central Florida.

Ya'll pray for us down here along the Gulf of Mexico.  We don't need another big one!

We're in full panic mode here too....living on the coast of Texas (right by Lake Charles). I'm worried too because I can't just eat anything. I remember during the last hurricane we evacuated for we ate horribly - gas station hamburgers, hotdogs, you name it. Whatever we could find. I can't do that this time, so I will be going to the store (mass pandomium, I'm sure) and stocking up on stuff I can eat.

Today:

B:  10oz - Mootopia milk (thanks for clueing me in to this awesome find, Jen)

S:  grapes

L:  I'm thinking cheese cubes and crackers, maybe with a little dijon mustard too

D:   No clue

Jenn, no wonder your Wednesday was so awful. Especially when you are already MORE than ready to be done with school and had other plans. It sounds like you are making good progress and perhaps can enjoy some of the long weekend.

I never lived in Hurricane territory, but know the drill from blizzards back East - bread and milk sections picked clean, non-natives in a panic, locals tolerantly amused. Some other non-perishable protein suggestions: some of the softer protein bars (not sure if you are up to dense stuff yet), tuna or crab single serving packets (my cats and I like the clams). Good luck to you ladies on the Gulf.

Oh, and the topic here - my food plan. Last night I had 2 additional gardenburgers and a piece of sourdough bread with butter around midnight. This was this first time this ugly old eating pattern has rared it's ugly head since I started MF. Times like that I wish I had a pouch to whup me upside the head. I think I know why I did it - we were short on leftover chicken, so co-dependent that I am, told DH to have the chicken and I had portabella garden burgers. Delish, but not as filling a dinner protein as my body wants.

B - MF scrambled eggs
S - MF chocolate shake
L - MF Maryland Crab soup
S - MF cherry pomegranate shake
D - Grilled pork loin chop, grilled veggies
S - Vanilla pudding (chocolate is geting low)
S - PB bar if needed for late nite munchies

Sig Ot is moving this weekend, and since I still can't lift heavy stuff, I am staying out of his hair!

I live just outside Philly, Jenn. I'd love to take you lunch!

Enjoying one last blowout weekend: a little silly today, and dinner out this Monday, then it's back on the chain gang.

You ready? This was my Lunch Out With Bronwen Day!™

But first I did an hour with my trainer. And after went shopping and got a haircut.

B: Two chocolate cinnamon peanut butter raisin protein balls
L: Slice of raisin bread with butter (from an actual cow, not a laboratory)
4 oz beef filet with thin sliced french fried onions, mushrooms, and steak sauce
(came with bernaise, but I wasn't crazy about it)
    After dinner chocolate mint
Half an order of a sorbet sampler (3 flavors-- with pistachio meringue, and pineapple, and
     orange crispini)
Half a fairly small (THANK GOD) molten chocolate cake with whipped cream
S: 2 Sugar Free Asher's Chocolates
D: Remaining 2 oz of steak and mushrooms
S: 4 oz Fage with 1/2 scoop Unjury and cinnamon (gotta bump up the protein today!), 1/3 cup
     fresh berries

The damage? About 1050-1100 (I also sampled cheese at the Amish market.) Only 31% protein today. But man, what a tasty day! Was terrific!

8500 saltines, 6 SF popsicles, and a few AdvanEdge EAS protein drinks.

Chewing real food hurts my teeth and sinuses, but for some reason, the saltines are keeping me from horking up the pain pills.

Kix

(Your protein drink sounded kind of gross, have you tried the AdvantEdge?  They aren't as thick, and the Rich Dark Chocolate and the Cafe Caramel flavors are pretty decent).
