No baked Alaska or cherries jubilee here, but I sure like lighting things on fire.  Always have. Maybe my little known fact on yesterday's post should have been that I'm a pyro.

I read some of your answers to my husband and when I got to me and my little known fact he said I should have written "I'm never wrong, I'm only mistaken" because I use that phrase with him a lot. His favorite phrase regarding me is "Anything you can do, Jenn can do better" but I *almost* suspect some sarcasm there.

Oooooh there's a bunch of new emoticons! Cool!

Ummm, what was I talking about? Oh yeah food. That's the point of this right?

B - egg, cheese, and green chile omelet (2 eggs, 1/2c sharp cheddar, 1/4c roasted green chile)

S - banana protein shake with milk (no mootopia, just the regular stuff)

L - 3 grilled chicken tenderloins, 1/2c pinto beans

S - venti light espresso frappucino with protein added (they'll do that for any drink right now, but its not on the menu)

D - more pinto beans, some greens, and a corn and cheese muffin

Last night I made an apple crisp for dessert because I had a BUNCH of apples that need to be eaten. I made it sugar free except for what was in the apples and what was in the granola I used as a topping. I had one bite, with one bite of ice cream (stolen from husband's bowl) and I was extremely unusually satisfied. I wish I could just have one bite of dessert usually and be fine. He ate some of it, and I sent the rest to our old neighbors next door so it wouldn't be in our house tempting us.

I hope everyone has a great day. Mine will consist of a lot of boring bioinformatics journal articles.

A good friend of mine here in Cleveland also likes to light things on fire and/or blow things up.  He's working on his dissertation now, but when he's done and has some time/money, he's actually planning to take some pyrotechnics classes and learn how to make fireworks!!!  He's also talked about buying an ice cream truck, and we joke about him blowing up the ice cream truck with his fireworks.

I'm packing my office today so I can be moved closer to my new practice group.  I'm only moving about 5 offices away from where I am now, but I have to pack everything in my office, down to the last paperclip.  What a dusty pain in the arss...  Only possible good point is that I'll get to leave whenever the moving guys show up, which could be as early at 3-4 p.m.  The earlier the better as far as I'm concerned.

Ah, the purpose of this post - food - here's what I know about my day:

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal

Snack:  medium banana

Lunch:  1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 slices smoked turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese, alfalfa sprouts, 1/2 oz. pretzel snaps, blueberries, and a couple Dove dark chocolate promises

Snack:  1 c. lowfat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. SF preserves, 2 oz. blueberries, 3 oz. strawberries

remainder of day unknown - dinner will probably involve scallops if they are still good.  if scallops are bad, who knows...

After yesterday's food binge, I expected to be 8 lbs fatter today.  I'm down a lb.  Go figure.

I just finished my "thank you notes" for yesterday's job interview.  I had to suppress the urge to write, "I'm really not as stupid as I appeared yesterday, I'm not!"

My sister had some kind of tantrum this morning because she couldn't find her work badge.  She can't get into her building without it.  This isn't the first time she has misplaced it.  She was SOBing in a loud voice at 6 AM as she tore apart the house.  I heard all of this, but I find her tirades immature and elected to remain asleep.    I woke up to a disheveled living room, which I'm sure she expects me to tidy up.  Not gonna happen.

As for food, frankly, my stomach is hungry but I don't feel like eating any food.  I'll have to figure out what to do.  Maybe I will go to Whole Paycheck and get some of their buffalo chili.

I'll post my food later.

Hey Jenn! I'm sorry -- this is off-topic, and I'm kind of hijacking the thread...but, inquiring minds want to know... and maybe I missed a follow up post. What did you end up doing... moving in with your friends... or sticking it out where you live? Just curious... you had mentioned in this message that you gave the dessert to you OLD neighbors, which made me think you moved..... did I miss it?

Oh no, I meant OLD like ancient old wrinkly people on fixed incomes. We decided to stay here, mainly because I wanted as few distractions as possible while I finish my dissertation.

I like fire too, Jenn. I have a canvas & screen gazebo in the backyard (my tent) that is my private space. In the evenings, I love to play with my candles and incense. Clay is just happy I keep it outside.

Explosives folks are a whole other breed. A friend back in PA does explosives for quarries and road work. When a building is scheduled to go down somewhere in the NE, you can bet he and his buds will be there for the even****ching if not doing.

B - MF Oat & Rasin bar
S - MF Lemon bar
L - shoot, outta MF soup at work - MF scrambled eggs
S - MF chocolate shake
D - Fresh fish (didn't make it to the fish store before it closed yesterday), grilled veggies
S - Chocolate pudding

So far today I have had rotisserie chicken.  No real plans for anything else at this time.

I am a little nervous about eating this weekend because I am going to the beach with family.  Playing all day in the water always made me ravenous, I am hoping that doesn't happen post-op.  My tender tummy is not really ready for food and I don't want to eat irresponsibly either.  I do have some good meals planned but you know how that goes!
