I've been trying a lot of protein powders and RTDs lately since I saw the surgeon. I thought I'd give my reviews if anyone was interested.
By the way, I thorougly hate protein so the fact that I have anything nice to say about any of them is really a surprise.
Nectar Ice Tea Lemonade - kill me now, disgusting, yuck yuck bleck
Myoplex RTD - chocolate is ok, but too sweet for me, vanilla I can drink and do tolerate, strawberry was a big mistake. They all leave a sticky film on my mouth and lips that grosses me out, but they do not have a bad smell or aftertaste. They are, however, pricey.
Click Mocha Espresso protein powder - decent, its really thick if you make according to instructions, and it doesn't dissolve well at all so I have to use a blender, but it actually has espresso in it and tastes better than most coffee flavored things. The bonus is that it also has such a strong flavor that it overwhelms the protein smell and taste. The downside is that it makes me go to the bathroom instantly.
Isopure RTD - artic punch DISGUSTING, lemon-lime barely tolerable and slightly disgusting
Dessert protein banana cream pudding - makes a decent smoothie if you add a banana, and is not so thick and sticky, not bad at all
Dessert protein vanilla - better than most, good vanilla flavor, not sticky, low puke factor
Bariatric advantage powders - the banana tastes like banana laffy taffy, ok at first then kind of disgusting. Strawberry is tolerable, mint chocolate is decent and MIGHT be ok warm like hot chocolate, vanilla is dreadful IMO. These also dissolve poorly and leave the major sticky mouth after effects that gross me out.
Atkins Advantage RTD - ok before surgery, now just the smell does me in
I think that's all I've tried recently, but if I forgot some I'll come back and add them.

I like the EAS AdvantEdge RTD protein drinks, 17g protein @110 calories per drink. I also bought a protein powder at Vitamin Barn (or whatever the name is) for protein ice cream that turned out to be not too bad when I made homemade protein pudding. I'll have to go look at the canister later. It dissolves nicely, too, which is of major importance because I hate drinking lumps o'food.
I don't remember which samples I bought as a new post-op, but they were all foul and some of them gave me the rhino poops (sprays like a firehose

I am very fond of the Nectar Sweets Vanilla Bean and the Chocolate Truffle. I have also had thier Cappachino flavor. I add fresh fruit to the vanilla with a tiny bit of splenda, and sometimes I add a teaspoon of peanut butter to the chocolate and it tastes like a Reeces PB cup! I wilingly have these for breakfast 3-4 times a week, simply because they are quick & easy when I'm getting ready for work, I sip on them while I put my make up on. The flavor is very good.
I love all 5 flavors of Chike protein powder. (www.chikenutrition.com) They make chocolate, vanilla, orange, banana, and strawberry. It's delicious!
Hey Dunny,
I bought all of the samples from Vitalady when I first started and I find I still go back to my Unjury. I mix mine with milk and depending on my mood I mix in different DiVinci syrups. I drink coffee and make coffee drinks with the unflavored or vanilla flavor.
It is one of the more expensive protein powders but I know they have excellent quality and I really enjoy the taste.
I read your post about supplementing the shakes when the snacky'**** Boy, did that hit me like a rock. I am so glad you wrote that as I really forgot about doing that. I guess my senior moment**** me.
Also, the Unjury strawberry mixed with the Crystal light pink lemonade is a really nice summer drink.

I'd like to add
AchievOne to the list---I like to add DaVinci to it---toffee is best.
For those who have shake issues, it's also hard to beat NSA Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed with Hood CarbControl Milk or Mootopia if you can find it....about 15 proteins and pretty much drinkable for everyone.
