Update on Abiding in Him
This week our friend AbidinginHIM has been on my mind and I've sent prayers her way. For those of you new to this board, she recently had a lower body lift (LBL) after going from a BMI of 62 to 27. Unfortunately, Jennie developed complications from the LBL. I sent her a quick note asking how she was, and got this back this morning:
I have had another bout of complications that sent me back to the OR on August 1. This past week was REALLY HARD, but I feel like I've turned a corner, and am feeling/doing MUCH better. I have to remain mostly in a reclining position for right now until the large cavity that had been a seroma fuses together, so getting to the computer is hard. I am only allowed to sit up at the computer for short periods of time. Hopefully, that will change when I go back to the doctor on the 15th. He wants me to be as still as possible for right now, just wallking to the bathroom and flexing my legs to avoid clots. Most people heal fine after plastic surgery, or they might not even know if there is still an open area, but for whatever reason, by body produces a protective lining that produces excess fluid and does not allow the layers to heal together. They had to go in and scrape off that lining on my back, butt and bones. I am quite sore and had an infection set in early in the week. Yesterday, I felt better for the first time, and was able to space out the percoset so that I didn't have to take it every 4 hours, and I could see the infection subsiding.
Thanks so much for the prayer - I know that is helping the most, especially with my mental state! You can update the BMI over 50 board for me, because I just cannot sit at the computer that long.
Hugs,
Jennie

I'm on my way to light candles and incense for her.
