Monday weigh-in
Good morning ladies, gentlemen, and lurkers, and welcome to Monday morning. How were your weekends???? I spent mine at a friend's cottage by a lake, hanging out with friends, eating, drinking, napping, walking, and relaxing. Now I'm refreshed and ready to face the challenges of a new week, whi*****ludes a new job for me (stayed w/ the same company, just have a new position).
Here's what the scale had to say (which frankly is much better than I expected after a weekend of eating and drinking!!!):
Highest weight: 409
Beginning weight: 396
Surgery weight: 386
Last week: 183.0
This week: 182.8
Who's next????

It was a rough week for me - I suffered a bit from the post race blues and pretty much let my eating get a little out of hand. So, not a good week weight wise. On top of that I feel bloaty and gross and I know my stomach is not happy.
But I feel better this week, have a new perspective and ready to hit the ground running. I'm also reading a book "Life is Hard, Food is Easy" that is addressing a lot of my emotional eating issues - so far I see myself in every example the author has given! Why, oh why, is this so hard?
surgery weight: 371
last week's weight: 181
this week's weight: 186
I have been struggling with gaining since I went to Moab in March - I know it's a reaction to the profound changes in my life since then but it kind of shockes me that I would react to something positive with self sabotage. Life is sometimes way too complicated for me to understand.
edited to say I echo kathy - the scale and I are seperated! I'm freaking myself out by stepping on it everyday and need a cooling down period.

I have that book! It's probably the best book I've seen on the topic of emotional eating.
I don't understand why I have the emotional eating gene, either. i watch our neighbor (he's a retired contractor and has been helping us with the bathroom redo) eat, and it's obvious he isn't interested in eating at all and food is only fuel for his body. He's not skinny, he's average weight. How would it be to treat food as just a means to fuel the body?!
Anyway, just wanted to let you know you aren't alone! I have to stay vigilant every day.
