Hi weekend people. I can never decide whether to post this on the weekend since the board is usually pretty dead, but for the people who want to, its here. Here's my Saturday plan -
B - cottage cheese with pineapple
S - banana
L - 2 scrambled eggs and a piece of wheat toast, maybe with a little jelly or peanut butter or butter
D - meat sauce for spaghetti, with some parmesan cheese (my sauce has a ton of veggies in it, bell pepper, onion, carrot, zucchini, and garlic)
S - greek yogurt with crystal light lemonade powder in it OR milk

Hi,
Yes, it is really quiet on the weekends, but I do enjoy posting.
Here's my Saturday plan-
B- 1-2oz. deli ham, part of a banana
L- 1/2 cup leftover calico bean casserole (from our BBQ last night, was yummy and good protein)
D- dunno, going to the MN OH event and dinner is included
Here's my Sunday plan-
B- some type of protein (deli meat, cottage cheese, string cheese) w/ fruit
L- tuna pasta salad (carby, I know, but a fave of mine and I load it with tuna and cheese)
D- steak and green beans with almond slivers
I have to admit, now that I can eat a full range of foods (even if it is in limited quantities) I feel so content - a lot less depressed than I was on the liquid diet or newly post-op. I really am starting to feel like I'm living a "normal" life (whatever that is) again.
Have a great weekend!

Its miserably hot here too, and extremely thick and humid. I don't know why I bothered to do my hair yesterday (its a rare thing for me to begin with) but within 5 minutes of being outside I was very sweaty and it was very flat. The worst part is when its so thick that you sweat but it doesn't evaporate, so you just get wetter and wetter. It also makes it really hard to go to the gym! Who wants to exercise when you are already overheated? Blech!
This heat is unusual for Colorado (if I was in Texas, I'd be more accepting of it. The one time I visited San Antonio was in August, 1987. How stupid was that, going in August? I nearly dropped dead right on the Riverwalk! My pals and I should have known there was a reason the airfares and hotels were so cheap from St. Louis to San Antonio at that time of year.
)
So, the hot in Denver isn't bad enough, but I've started dipping toes into the menopause pool, so I get these weird, brief flashes where I get all overheated and damp for about five minutes, and then it goes away. I had one in the car on the way to my interview, ugh. I told my ovaries I do not want children and thus they can feel free to shut right down immediately. I don't need any of this perimenopause baloney.
Speaking of pools, the cold pool at the rec center sounds mighty fine today. Perhaps I will stop by!
What sounds good for dinner? Nothing is ringing my chimes. I want totally protein, nothing carby.

Hmmm. You wanted fish, but how about shrimp ****tail? Not carby, and not warm so a good summer food. My husband had it for lunch today for that very reason.
I am dumping on a stinking banana right now. I eat bananas all the time, no problem! Stupid bananas. I'm still on a fruit kick. That seems to be my current food rut, especially lemony things. Mmm you could grill or sautee some shrimp with lots and lots and lots of lemon. I don't even like shrimp and that sounds good to me!

I like the weekends - I have more time to read and post. Although, I'm sure that as I get farther along, I'll be out doing stuff. Today I'm exhausted after launching a new web site yesterday. All I want to do is read and nap.
I'm glad I'm not in Texas or Colorado. We are having a cooler spell on Oregon, which I love for yard work and sleeping, but is not as compelling git-yer-butt-to-the-pool weather.
The boys' potato chips (which I normally really don't care for) have been calling my name lately, so I think I'll start posting my food again. (I did limit myself to a small handful, but still .... not good)
B - MF Peach Oatmeal
S - MF Chai Tea
L - MF Chicken Noodle Soup w/ 1/2 C egg beaters (home-made egg drop soup)
S - MF Chocolate shake
D - Pork loin chop (DH is craving pork), asparagus
S - MF Chocolate pudding

It's quiet because I'll bet most of us post in the quiet moments we steal away from our jobs. It's stinking hot here too. I got out of school at 11AM this morning after taking notes from 5 long biology chapters...ugh. I've got a high b average in the class with one more test to turn in and she's going to curve the grades so I should end up with an A! Yay!
I'm watching PS I Love You right now...highly recommend it!
Breakfast - SBD protein bar then later venti starbucks coffee w/sf hazelnut syrup half/half
Lunch - 3 oz sirloin steak and some ruffles chips (not baked either-I'm a rebel today)
S- sugar free jelly fruit candies...gotta break this bloated feeling somehow!
D - not sure
I'm taking my 7 year old niece to the community theatre to see seussical tonight and we are going out for a girls night out dinner and a show. I might take her to one of the swanky restaurants downtown for a treat!
Tomorrow is the final push to finish all my school stuff. Yikes...it's almost over.

Sunday - We partied kind of hard yesterday afternoon and last night, and instead of meat sauce I had a meatball at this delicious hole in the wall on the south side called Big Lou's pizza. I also had a salad. Then late in the night I had the toppings off of a leftover piece of "everything" pizza. We had a great evening, a lot of fun, and it wasn't centered around food, which is nice. We played a game called Apples to Apples, and it was a riot.
So Sunday, we've had to get all the cleaning we wanted to get done this weekend in one day, and by golly we've been at it since 9am with no sign of stopping! I'm scrubbing floors right now.
B - cottage cheese and pineapple
S - banana
L - nothing
D - 1 bratwurst with german mustard, some grilled peppers and onions, and about 1/2c of baked beans. I scarfed a lot, was totally starved, and Thundercles understood that I needed some fuel and didn't give me a hassle.
S - probably some canteloupe or another banana, maybe some milk too
