Had my surgery yesterday.....

Hi Everyone!  I had my surgery yesterday and all went well. I am still in the hospital. Excuse any typos as I have an IV in my right hand and am on pca morphine. The doctor said my surgery went very well. The took me into the OR at 730am and then to recovery at 1115am, I stayed in recovery until 3pm. I had my leak test this morning and it went well. Started my liquids today, having a bit of a problem with the SF Carnation Instant Breakfast - they think I might be lactose intolerant and are trying lactaid this evening. If all goes well, I will be discharged tomorrow afternoon.

way to go--I love good news since my surgery is Aug. 19th.  Keep up the healing.

Glad to hear that your surgery went well and that you are quickly recovering.  Thanks for updating us!  I also wasn't able to drink milk following surgery...I guess that is fairly common.  I hope that everything continues to go well and that you get to go home tomorrow.

You are too funny posting from the hospital.  Thanks for the update   It sounds like things are going pretty well so far.  Great news.

I just realized that you are my "neighbor".  Down the line if you continue to be lactose intolerant, let me know.  I can recommend a little blue tablet from Walgreens that helps alot.  Don't remember the name of it at this moment.

I'm glad your surgery went well and that the leak test was a success; both excellent starts!!!  I hope you get to go home on schedule - hospitals are okay because there are people to help you, but, as Dorothy said, there's no place like home :-) 

Post-op advice -> sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk, repeat endlessly...

Thank you all for the kind words! The doctor came in this morning and said my blood count was slightly elevated last night, so, they had to draw blood and I am waiting for the results now. If it is still elevated I won't be going home today ---- so I am keeping my fingers crossed for good results!
