Update re: plastics approval
Insurance has approved the portion of my lower-body work that was expected (panniculectomy), and they will be sending written approval to my surgeon in the next few days. I'll be paying out-of-pocket for umbilical relocation and muscle tightening. The surgeon cannot schedule my date until he receives the written approval, but the scheduler said it will likely be mid to late September because of the length of time he'll need in the operating room (estimated to be 5 1/2 hours). I hope to have more specific information by the end of next week or so; I'll provide an update when I have an actual date.
I'm excited and nervous -
Kellie
congrats kellie! that's great news.
i know how much better i've felt about myself since i got some of the skin removed. i did have my thighs done last week -- it's been a bit more challenging that the abdominal work as one of my leg incisions has developed a hole -- ugh! but, it'll heal eventually. i'm pretty excited about how the legs are looking, even with all the swelling, etc.
PS hurts, and it's trying to deal with, but (in my opinion) -- well worth the effort!
(oh, i received the before abdom. pics for the ps in hard copy...won't be able to scan them till i get back to work -- but i haven't forgotten!)
i'm so happy for you!
