Why torturous? Because its ALMOST but NOT QUITE Friday, and because I have to clean. A lot. We have a friend staying with us all next week so I guess its time to get the cat vomit spots out of the carpet! Pets. Aren't they wonderful? My husband and I make plenty of messes without their help, thank you very much!

I had a loooong night, between wicked gas cramps, back pain, and menstrual cramps, I was a cranky Jenny. I got up at about 5:30am and sat in a hot bath. Then I got too hot and sat in a cold bath. Then a hot bath. I am pruney, but not quite so cranky now. I don't know what gave me so much gas, I didn't eat anything extraordinary, but something definitely did NOT agree.

Today I plan to take it pretty easy on the food, maybe even go all liquid. Things just aren't quite settled in the world of Thundercles! Something foul is afoot, I tell ya! Please please just let it be gas! I never thought I'd be happy to have excruciating gas pain, but I would be very happy of that's all it is. Nothing like the threat of serious complications to make you appreciate some gas.

So yeah. Ummmm.
What are you eating today? Between the cat vomit discussion and the fart talk, are you sure you want to tell me?

Cat vomit leaves the worst carpet stains ever, I hate it! Jenn please don't let the pains go on too long without calling the DR. I let mine go for 3 long days and then had to have emergency surgery to repair a hernia. I'm was so hoping it was just gas too, but I knew something was wrong when it didn't go away.

Today is going to be a great day, I've decided!  I cleaned out all the stupid snacky carbs from the cupboard and brought them to the girls at work for their kids. I'm not going to be buying them again, it makes me so mad when I do!

We're taking my Niece who's 6 years old (soon to be 7), out to dinner and then to the Circus tonight!! Whoo hoo I'm excited. I lucky out and got great seats for us.

Pre B - SF NF Cinnamon Doulce Latte

S - Greek yogurt with black and blueberries added in

L - tuna/egg salad made with 1/2 RF mayo and 1/2 Greek yogurt, cucumber slices

I'm feeling pretty out of sorts myself.  I've had BM's for the past two day but (TMI) they just aren't too productive.  I feel bloated and just gross.  When I get like this, I'm miserable.  Hope it "passes" soon...excuse the pun!

B - SBD protein bar 10 g protein
S-2 oz ham & .25 oz of provolone   20 g protein
L - SBD caprese chicken & NSA applesauce  30 g protein
D-chicken and sauteed spinach  25 g protein

800 calories & 85 g protein

Cat vomit, combined w/ gas/menstrual cramps and back pain sounds like a reason to crawl back into bed and try again tomorrow...  Hope your day improved -

Yesterday I ate like food was going out of style - premenstrual munchies, combined with a work outing to a baseball game = bad combination!  Woke up this morning 4 pounds heavier than yesterday, thank you very much fluid retention.  Have been taking it easy today -

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker weight control oatmeal

Snack #1:  1 c. lowfat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. SF preserves, 2 oz. blueberries, 2.5 oz. strawberries

Snack #2:  banana

[workout:  ~30-40 minutes of walking in the park]

Lunch:  Lean Cuisine salmon w/ spinach and orzo pasta

Snack #3:  2 Frigo cheese sticks, 1 serving multigrain Wheat Thins

Snack #4:  venti non-fat latte w/ SF vanilla syrup

Snack #5:  1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 slices smoked turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese, wasabi-horseradish sauce

Dinner:  unknown - have lots to do to get packed for the weekend festivities, so will probably have a frozen dinner or salad w/ smoked turkey - just something fast and easy

B - umm, went back to sleep at 9, slept till 11, never had breakfast

Then got a call that there was a mandatory meeting with the department head in 2 hours. Love that short notice. Of course it was bad bad bad bad bad news. I have to teach 3 classes this fall to get paid, even though I am supported by an outside funding source.

This news led to what is not the best food day on record. I totally used food to cope today.

L - 3 chicken spring rolls, 1c vegetable soup

S - chips and queso and salsa, 2-3 sips of husband's beer

S - no sugar added berry gelato (OMG yum, its sooooooo wrong NEVER GOING BACK THERE)

D - meatballs from half a meatball sub for a half-hearted attempt at protein

Then I called my boss and had a crying nervous breakdown about all the stress I am under and about how I've let her down and she should fire me because I am useless.  It was lovely.  Then I took another bath and cried some more.

Yeah, good day.

Good Lord, this certainly wasn't your day, was it?

With all the extra protein I've been eating this week, I felt really "backed up," so I took a big dose of Walmart brand milk of magnesia.  I barely made it to the bathroom, yikes!  I hope it doesn't work too well and I spend all day tomorrow needing the bathroom.

I left my food journal in the car (good place for it), but I'm pretty sure I have everything listed correctly.  I felt tired and hungry today, but not hungry for carbs.  My sister decided we should have Chinese food for dinner, so my dinner was about as WLS friendly as possible given the cir****tances.

B: 1 MetRX RTD protein drink @51g protein, 240 calories
S: 1 Atikins protein bar @11g protein, 160 calories
L:  8 oz salmon sashimi @ 400 calories, 28g protein
D: 5 fried shrimp @12g protein, 135 calories, and 5 beef skewers @ 600 calories, 70g protein

Totals: 1535 calories - 243 calories expended = 1292 calories, 160g protein
