I had my surgery 12/18/07 was 419 now 265 ... about 90 lbs till "normal" which i would like to get to by dec 18 2008. That is about 22 lbs a month and I average 15. On my days off I eat crap and you'd never know I had the surgery except that i can't eat a lot of it . It's weird some days I can eat a LOT and some days not so much. But today I ate 2 whole peices of pizza among all my other crap. I am not even stuffed to the max!! So tomarrow I start back to serious business doing right.

My question is this has anyone tried metabolife or hydroxycut since surgery? Has it helped?

what else could I do to give me a supper boost for the next 4 months months to get this last 90 lbs off?

I know I'm not supposed to take diet type pills but i can't be only person who has thought about it and I am hoping someone actually has so they can tell me!!

Hi
We're almost surgery sisters! My RNY was on Dec. 14 2007.
My weight loss has slowed to about ten pounds a month, and I have another 85 lbs to lose myself, but since I decided to do this to get healthy, I'm not going to use supplements that may not be very good for me. I will just do my best and follow all the rules!  Do ask your surgeon's office, about the supplements, before taking them.
It has to be about making better choices with food and everything else too!. So what if it takes a llittle longer to get it off, everybody is different and they lose weight at different rates. I've read these boards alot and the people who have the most to lose naturally take longer. Remember it's a lifelong journey, not just a destination. I've also joined a gym, maybe that would help and make you feel better too!
Just don't give up. Try to enjoy the journey. I wish you the best of luck and health. :-)

It's natural for our weight loss to slow down a bit the further we get from our surgery dates; it's just part of the process.  That being said, you're only 7 months out from surgery and you've probably got another good/easier losing window of 4-5 more months.  If you want to maximize what you lose during those 4-5 months, you already know what to do:  stop eating things that don't have maximum nutritional value (like the pizza), keep your protein numbers higher, skip the processed carbs, when you do eat carbs make sure they are healthy, complex carbs, drink lots of non-caffeinated/non-carbonated fluids, and exercise, exercise, exercise.  In my opinion, exercise is key to long-term weight loss maintenance, especially for those of us who started out SMO.  Even walking is great - anything to burn off some calories....

Regarding metabolife or hydroxycut, they are not solutions to the problem here.  Even with WLS, it's still about calories in versus calories out.  Focus on eating healthy and exercise, and making permanent changes to your food habits, and you will continue to lose.

Good luck on your continuing journey -

Kellie

You have lost so much already and you are freakin gorgeous!!   Look at the positives and take time to enjoy the ride. It's great to have goals but make sure they are achievable so you don't go back to the self defeating ways we all had in the past. I struggle with that too. I want it all off yesterday but we have to be healthy in mind and body the journey is through or what's the point. You can do this the right way!! I know you can!!

Cut the carbs, eat more protein and up your fluids.  You CAN do this!
