Hey Everybody!  I made it!  I got home last night around 7:30, it was a three hour drive home, a bit uncomfortable but we made it.   Surgery was Thursday at 7:30 so it's been three days now and a couple of hours.  Still tired and sore, had a few surprises, the blood thinner I'm taking, I have to give myself as a shot in the belly.  wish that had been explained a little better and my breathing, still kinda shallow, need to get that deeper.  no problem with the walking and sipping, although I think I may not be awake for long enough yet, getting kinda gassy, but no movement yet, only a matter of time I'm sure.  I'm tired so I gonna go get a sip and a nap!  talk to you all later!  woohoo, I'm on the losing side!!

Welcome home Diane!  Glad to hear that everything went well and that you're doing well with your recovery.  The Lovenox shots aren't too terrible, but I was glad that my Dr. let me off of them before the 30 days that he originally mentioned.  After a few weeks you start running out of space and it hurts a bit more...the bruising is the worst part of them though.  I can still feel some of the bruises deep underneath my skin, but at least the superficial bruising is gone now.  Keep trying to drink as much as possible, exercise as much as you can and rest, rest, rest.

Welcome home Diane...and welcome to the losers bench.  Glad to hear you are doing well. The next few days will be a little rough, but after that it is clear sailing and Watch out World...here she comes!  Good luck and keep in touch.

Welcome to the loser's bench, Diane.  Standard advice -> walk, sip, walk, nap, sip, walk, sip, nap, repeat over, and over, and over...

Keep us posted on how you're doing -

Hi all!! Thank you all for your well wishes, I am feeling much better today, I cut back my pain meds by 1/2 and voila ! no headaches, no pain, I am more alert, drinking more and trying to get more protein!  I think I was just afraid to hurt so I think I was over medicating myself. but it's good now!

Welcome to the Losers' Bench!

Did you get an incentive spirometer in the hospital?  If not, I'll bet your pharmacy can get one for you.  Huffing on it will help your lungs get back to normal.

Woo, indeed!
