The girls moved north

Thanks to whoever told me about Lane Bryant's Balconette bra.  (I think it was you, Jenn).  I went to LB today for the first time in 12 years.  Actually, me stepping foot in a mall is a pretty big deal.  It's an anxiety issue that I have to find a way to come to terms with.  Anyway, back to the girls...I tried on every style of bra they had and the balconette won hands down.  I bought a couple of blouses too (22/24) - my husband's eyes were popping out in admiration.  I tried all their perfect fit pants but no go.  They flair out at the bottom and it is not a flattering cut on me.  The one pair that did look good (albeit a bit snug), were way too long and this chick doesn't sew.  I'm 5'6" and have to buy petite pants.  I don't get it.

Tomorrow I'm going to hit Catherines and Dress Barn.  I have a coupon for the former.  I'm in desperate need of pants and with all the panni, I'm finding pants shopping impossible.

Going now to a friend's to play Sheepshead.

You are welcome!  I'm glad the boobies are back up where they are supposed to be!  I agree about the pants, they are WAY TOO LONG!  I had to shorten the petites by about 6 inches, but that isn't unusual for me :)  I like that balconette though, I actually slept in it the other day, I feel asleep without taking off my clothes and when I woke up I was shocked to have actually slept in UNDERWIRE!

Have fun shopping.  Its kind of more fun now for me :) but its also a lot harder when there is more to choose from and you are pickier.

I can't wait until I'm small enough to try the fabled Balconette. My girls were low-hanging even before I started my journey. By the time I'm done, I bet I can tie 'em in a knot.

That visual gave me a morning chuckle!  Thanks!!!  Guess I could so easily picture that in my head cuz these girls also were hanging low before surgery.

My hubby thinks he's so funny...he sings "do your boobs hang low" to the tune of the children's song "do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie em in a knot, can you tie em in a bow!"

So NOT funny. He gets a thump on the forehead for that one!

Hey Dawn,

Glad you liked the balconette.  I am 5'7" and I too have to find petite length pants---who are these designers????

I have found some at Just My Size, Roaman's or Jessica London, and at Penney's (on-line only).  I think as I was losing I found a couple of styles at Catherine's that worked (unfortunately since it was my favorite store (or fortunately) everything at Catherine's is now too big.

Good luck finding pants.

Congrats on finding a bra to put the girls back where they belong!!!  That's a nice feeling

I've had a hard time finding pants for the longest time.  They were either too long, too short, too snug around the panni, too long-waisted, too short-waisted, etc.  I also had a hard time finding pants that were comfortable when I was sitting down because of the excess skin on my abdomen.  (Pants that were fine when I was standing were often very uncomfortable when I sat down - ugh.)  I pretty consistently had good luck with the "Perfect Fit" knit pants from Catherine's, which are available in petites, so perhaps you'll have some luck there.

Anyway, enjoy those new bras and good luck finding some new pants as well -

Kellie

That's exactly what I got!  LB had wide legs - not for me.  So the next day I went to Catherines.  Always one of my favorite stores :)

My pants issue is the waist is way too big for the hips panni.  I'm down to a 20 and the waist on them is getting too big already.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but I just wish the thighs would budge a little!

OMG!!!!!!! I have to go get me one. I have been so trying to find one that at least fit better than the ones I have do now. Does LB actually fit you? Like many of you, the girls where going north before and now, go****'s like tri-folding and stuffing them in..lol..either that or flipping them over my shoulder out of the way......hehe. At least we can laugh about it.
