Gym is Open (Moaning Monday) 7/21

Wow!  There's a lot of activity here today.

I contemplated starting my weight training back today, however I counted that it's not been quite 4 weeks  yet.

So I did 55 minutes on the elliptical at level 5 on a foothills program.  My quads are a quite tired now.  It said I burned 750 calories.  I'd love to see how accurate those calorie calculators are.

I have found that the calorie calculators on the machines I use aren't as accurate as we'd like!  I wear a pedometer when I exercise and it tells me how many calories I burned during an activity (and 90% of the time, it's significantly lower than what the gym machine says I burned). 

For me, the goal needs to be not to take the calories I burned and then say, "Woo!  Extra food!"

I'm tapering off my workouts this weekend in preparation of my race - however, the spraining of my knee has made it so I am instead laying with my knee up and ice firmly in place. I'm hoping to test it out Wednesday to see how I do.

Perfect timing, wouldn't you say?

Shove over and hand me an ice pack, I've done something to my knee today at aquacise.  I think it's just an underused muscle/ligament arguing with me.  GRR on this stupid body not wanting to do more activity, I don't know how you are able to do all those workouts.  

Besides, it's a billion degrees outside, better to be comfy indoors with the A/C turned down to BRR!
