Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't get to post Friday, I was busy.  The family visit was good, but too short.  Their rental car had problems Wed night, so we spent half of Thursday getting a new one.  Then mom left her purse at Soup or Salad, and when we called they found it, but it was missing all of her cash (about 300 dollars, which sucks because my mom does not have much money at all and she saved that up for her trip).  Thankfully her credit cards and everything were still in there, as well as a camera.  I think they just grabbed the cash because it wasn't in the wallet, just in a front zip pocket.  They saw an easy opportunity.  Then we went to the movies, and my brother lost mom's cell phone.  So we had to go back to the theater later that night to find it.  It was a bad bad day.  We played Dance Dance Revolution, and I cooked enchiladas, then we went to the pool and hot tub.  Friday we went to breakfast, played mini-golf, a game of trivia, and then they had to leave.  As for my eating, I did ok, nothing too unusual.  I did have a flighty dizzy low blood sugar incident after we played games so mom got to see how I get - I was reading 66 and being really forgetful and apparently it was very obvious to her.  Ryan doesn't spot it that easily, and I wasn't aware of it either Here is Saturday's plan - B - 16oz mootopia S - 4 Ritz crackers, 1oz extra sharp cheddar L - 2/3c 2% cottage cheese, 2 compari tomatoes S - peach D - leftover turkey hash and eggs Have a good weekend!

Sorry to hear that your family's visit is already over.  It sounds like you had a nice time, with the exception of those few incidents. This is my "try new foods and see how they go weekend".  Here's today's plan: B- string cheese, 1/8c. watermelon L -  1/2 c. tuna pasta salad (using Barilla Plus - ended up being 11g protein and 13g carbs and about 120 cal per 1/2 cup serving) D- chicken thigh with KC Masterpiece low cal BBQ sauce (0g sugar) and maybe some more tuna salad (not sure how much meat I will be able to eat.  It seems that I can eat about 1.5oz. before becoming full). I'll probably go grocery shopping tonight to get a couple more "new" things to try.  Tomorrow's plan hopefully will include today's leftovers and I'm hoping to grill some shrimp tomorrow for dinner to see how that goes.

WillTara,  You had surgery the day after me.  Looking at your post is similar to what I eat on a typical day.  I, too, thought that I was able to eat too much and asked my surgeon about it at my appointment earlier this week.  He assured me that the quantity of food that I was eating was to be expected.  I think it's cool that you're able to eat eggs - I had one and it didn't agree with me.  It was the first solid that I ate post-op though so I probably need to give it another shot soon.  Keep up the great work!

I feel better knowing someone else is eating about the same.  I don't want to fail at this! I'm sorry about the eggs.  I have an easier time with the egg beaters, maybe you could give that a try? Congrats to you :) Tara

Sunday.  I am getting low on calories and protein quite often these days, so I am making an effort to eat more today.  That still seems weird to me.  Its also a high carb day but it happens sometimes.  I don't stress about it unless I go over 150g, then I know I need to get something in check B - 1/2c 2% cottage cheese, 1 medium peach S - 16oz mootopia, 1 packet NSA CIB L - 4 cheese lasagna, about 1/2c of mostly filling D - toasted turkey and cheese sandwich (2 slices fiber bread, 2oz extra sharp cheddar, 2oz turkey breast, 1tsp dijon mustard - I probably will eat half of it at dinner and half before bed & 2 sliced compari tomatoes S - 1/4 cantaloupe Estimate - Calories - 1237 Fat - 41g Carbs - 121g Fiber - 20g Protein - 100g This is a meal plan that puts me right where the doctor wants me - 1200cal, 100g non-fiber carbs, at least 20g fiber (I prefer higher) and 100g protein.  He didn't provide numbers for fat but I like at least 35g to keep things moving, which has been a problem for a few days.

What a crappy deal for your mom!  People just suck! I've had a crappy eating weekend too.  Have wanted to sleep alot since surgery on Thursday.  Is that normal?   Today B- SBD protein bar L - BBQ chicken pizza with carb balance tortilla leftover rotisserie chicken, cheese, bbq, onions & bell pepper.  It was good S- beef jerky D - Filet mignon, ear of corn S- nsa fudgesicle S- 100 calorie pop corn   I felt like I ate all day and I took a 2 hour nap.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.  I hate the lack of structure on the weekends!
