Very interesting - I can definitely identify with some of those reasons & post-op experiences.  Personality change, anhedonia, mourning the loss of food, having to cope with stress without resorting to food...  I am not surprised to learn that the suicide rate is a lot higher.  Its a lot to go through, and I agree that in some cases obesity is a symptom of underlying depression, not vice versa.  Thanks for posting this!
