New surgery date
Each day I feel more and more like myself emotionally and spiritually but I am still struggling physically. I want to get going and my body says - hold up, girl! you still have some mending to do!!! It is making me a bit crazy, but my family would argue we didn't have far to go to get me there...LOL
Thanks for asking and caring - it all helps in the healing process.
Girl, you just had surgery less than a month ago, plus you had the issues w/ the Coumadin. Cut your body some slack. If it wants a nap, take one! Be attentive to what your body is telling you, just like you did when you were having problems a week or so ago. Your body is directing it's energy to healing itself and that just doesn't leave as much energy for the other things you normally do. Trust me, you'll be running circles around your family in no time. Then they'll have another reason to thing you're crazy :-)

Jan,
I had a total hysterectomy in 1998 when I was 35, it was done vaginally and it was a piece of cake. If there s an option to do it this way, I def would recommend it! I have seen many other women have it done through the abdomen and they were in so much pain. Personally, I was really ready to go back to work in 3 weeks, though I waited until 5 weeks....doctor's orders. You will feel so much better once this is all over...it will be worth the wait!
Good luck & keep us posted... as the date nears

Thanks Penny - it will be done vaginally unless she runs into problems. She did tell me she might have to do some repairs, but other than that she sees no problems.
I'm personally aiming for only 2 weeks off work, not that it matters to the owner. He's been very good to me about all this and told me to take as much time as I need, no reason to file disability either, he'll continue to pay my salary.

I too had a vaginal hysterectomy and for me it was a piece of cake. When I went back to the surgeon for my follow up and he asked me how I was feeling I told him that the only way I knew that he had done the surgery was that I was no longer having periods!!! It really was a breeze for me and I went back to work after 2 weeks off and did fine.
Of course, everyone is different but I wish you luck!.
