I shaved my legs today!

So taking a shower is still laborious task.  I get winded and need to sometimes sit on the side of the tub until I feel like I can stand again and continue to showering process.  Well this morning I was sitting and I noticed that my hands fall below my knees.  So I politely kicked up my heel onto the other side of the tub and yep my hands reached to my ankles!!!  I figured "hey while I am down here I just as soon be productive and I shaved both legs.  Previously I would use the spray hair remover and let the shower rinse the remover and hair away.  Not anymore, I can shave and I not feel like a bending circus act.   But since life is about Yen and Yang - Good with the Bad, I must share this.  The Ketosis is killing me!!!  My mouth feels like a garbage dump!!!  I just try to remind myself that it is just another sign the surgery is working but it is like a gnat - it won't go away!!

Taking a shower gave me problems for a while, especially if I took one when I first woke up.  I'd get dizzy and nauseas.  For the first few months I'd wake up and sit and have some water before I took a shower, that seemed to help me.  As for shaving, its soooo much easier now.  I used to be pretty bad about it but now I am wearing shorts and dresses a lot more often and shaving is just part of the routine.  What a new experience! As for the ketosis - blech blech blech.  Its not like a gnat, its like a mouth full of gnats.  Everything tastes weird, you have to make yourself eat, and if you are anything like me the smells of other people and yourself (my pee STANK) are really offensive.  Every strong smell was offensive.  I can't wait to be pregnant, ugh!

I used to me a night showerer but ever since the sleep apnea, shower in the AM because that mask does a number on my hair.  It is routine now but I tell you it does take the wind out of my sails.  I can't wait for that to get back to normal.   You are in my thoughts as you head to the gyno today.  I rather have firecrackers up my nose than go to that appt, but I just remind myself that it is a necessary evil in staying healthy.  I do like mine through - he is in and out of there in a very short period of time.  Also, he is gay and I LOVE that about him.  Hope all goes/went well for you!!

It got rescheduled for tomorrow - he had a delivery to attend apparently.  So think of me tomorrow afternoon.  I don't mind him, he's very nice, understanding, and not at all intimidating (and he doesn't use a giant speculum - just because I'm fat doesn't mean I need the horse speculum!) He's very calm and sensitive, but its still nerve wracking no matter who does it, and he seriously looks like a 12 year old boy.  He also makes small talk during the exam, which I found very odd.  How am I supposed to answer questions about what I do for a living while you are feeling my boobs?  One thing that really impressed me though was that I asked for a transvaginal sonogram last year to look at my ovaries (ovarian cancer is rampant in my family) and he had no problem ordering it (I've had a hassle in the past)  - he had to fib a reason in order for insurance to pay for it but that was all good - we called it pelvic pain.  He said "do you ever have pelvic pain?"  I said "not really"  - he said "not even cramps?"  "Yeah I get cramps"  "Ok we are doing a tv sonogram for pelvic pain then"  hehe.  I'm actually hoping he'll be willing to take over ordering my regular blood work from now on.  My pcp's office is too unorganized.

Good luck tomorrow - I will keep you my thoughts that all goes well for you and you get some positive answers. I always know a cancellation is a possibility given the unpredictability of their work, but it takes me at least a week to build up the courage to get to the appointment and I think I would just faint if they canceled on me.  I am not due until July and I already get anxious thinking about it.  One thing I like about my dr is that he keeps the "small talk" for when I am fully clothed.  whew!!

What a 'WOW' moment!  I can definitely relate and I loooong for the day when I'll be able to comfortably 'move around' in the shower.  Good for you!

Be safe and well, B.B.

ohh ohh ohh  Sexy legs!  I shave at least every other day now and it's so much easier!   The ketosis will get better, I promise.  In fact since you just mentioned it, I can't remember the last time I had it.

I have never been a maintenance kind of girl and cannot imagine shaving every other day, but heck I also could never imagine surviving clear liquids for 12 days and I've done that - so shaving every other day it may be!

Your legs and pits will grow so fast and furiously in a few months.  I have to shave that often because if I don't I look like CAVEGIRL!  Heman no like cavegirl! I think the vitamins work wonders on the leg hair for me.  Not sure about anyone else.  And, my nails.  I could seriously do some damage with them.  They are sooooo strong.
