Hmph, as I typed the date, I realized today is the birthday of my last ex-fellow.  Woohoo (not). The gym is open.  I am worn out from walking 10,000 steps up and down hill at the Winters Open Space near my home.  I also watched the kayakers on Clear Creek in Golden.  I could probably fit in a kayak now, but I'm not sure my knees would bend enough to allow me to get into one.  It sure looks fun.  When all the winter snow melts, the rivers here in CO will all look like Niagara Falls. My plan is to go to the gym and do my exercising (including strength training), and as a reward for doing my real exercise, I will take my metal detector somewhere fun to practice and see what I can find.  We also have aquacise tonight, I'm not overly jazzed about attending and may quit once the summer aquatic schedule kicks in (first week of June). What did you do to move your body today? Kix

Good Morning Kix! I did: 15 mins elliptical 25 mins weight training 15 mins elliptical I keep saying I'm going to add another exercise routine to my evenings since I live right across the street from a park with lots of walking trails, but I just never seem to get around to it... there's always something else that needs doing first or instead... ugh..... LOL

Hi, Kix.  I'm trying something new today!  It's National Employee Health and Fitness Week, so my gym is offering some special classes.  One of them is cardio yoga and I'm going to try it at lunch.  Here's a description of the class:

Cardio yoga:  An athletic, hybrid form of yoga that incorporates classic yoga poses with challenging traditional strength and cardiovascular moves. The only class I've ever done is regular yoga, so this is really outside my comfort zone.  But I'm putting on my big girl panties and giving it a whirl...  Wish me luck -  Kellie

Kayaking is a blast! I'm buying one this summer and you and I can go out and play . It's an inflatable that you sit on top of so it's easy to get into and out of. But I need one for the races so it's on my "to buy" list. I've never been to Winters before but it's on my list to check out. It sure can get hot up there and the snakes usually scare me off, so I guess I should check it out on a cool day so i won't get scared off by any reptilian things. I ran 3 miles this morning but under duress - I DID NOT want to work out, I've been exhausted the past week and haven't felt normal at all. But I found out why today - i have a sinus infection. I went to my allergy/asthma dr. and was saying how bad allergies have been and that I've been miserable. She thought it was more than allergies and sure enough it was. Hopefully the antibiotics will get me feeling better soon. have fun working out!

Ok finally, got to go to the gym.  I was a cranky character because I found out I won't be able to work out tomorrow.  It's a choice between church or working out.  I also have the choice to go to a private American Idol party tomorrow night sponsored by our local fox station.  Hmmmm...I really want to work out, we are having a really good Bible study on Wed. nights, and the party sounds fun even though I'm not an Idol fan.   We'll see what happens with the car situation.  It's definitely only the gear cable (thank God) and not the transmission. Anyway, I did 25 minutes on the pyramid program on the elliptical on level 3 (can't go any higher on pyramid program) with an average speed of 4.5!  I was busting it out tonight! Then ... i increased my weight amounts on upper body today.  Monday is normally upper body but I missed yesterday.  My arms are WEARY right now.  I went from 10 to 15 pounds on biceps and about 10 pounds on all the nautilus machines.  I do believe I'm going to be sore tomorrow.
