Feeling Human again!

While I am still sore and I have to watch my every move, I am indeed feeling human again.  I even blow dried my hair after my shower today.  I am ready to feel as "normal" as possible I have made the decision to get back to my routines as well as I can while respecting that there are some things I just can't do yet.   I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes.  It is great knowing there is an arsenal of WLS warriors in my corner!

I am so glad you checked in.  I just got on the computer 10 minutes ago and was concerned that you hadn't posted yet. You will be amazed at how you feel in a week compared to today.  I'm not quite 3 months out and it seems like another century that I had the surgery.  Don't think you could have convinced me of that at the time, as I definately had "buyers remorse" for the first week. Hang in there!!  Glad you're back -dawn

I am not feeling remorseful - YET!  I am sure it is in my cards though.  It is a bit odd to not be participating in the ritual of eating with my family.  I think that maybe this is where my buyers remorse will kick in - eating as a family is a big deal for us.

Glad to see you are home and recovering! I am with you with the whole family ritual. It seems like all of the family gatherings are centered around a big meal.. and there I sit with 2 tablespoons of something soft. I find myself still being hungry in my head when my belly is STUFFED too. That's a hard one to get past. Keep us posted!

Its tough at first, don't over do it.  I did.  I felt really good after surgery, then I ended up back in the hospital... and then it took about 3 months before I felt really good again.  Take it easy, you will be easily tired for a while, its very stressful on the body. Eating with family is hard for the first few months, but the good news is it does get easier as you get more accustomed to your new pouch rules and feel more satisfied when you can eat more "regular" foods.  I wish you the best and hope every day is better than the one before!

Glad to see you posting again!  I'm impressed that you are blow drying your hair and all that stuff.  I think that it probably jsut makes you feel more normal.  Great job.  I am sure that everyday will just get a little easier.   Jennifer
