Resizing rings

I took my engagement/wedding ring to the jewelry store we bought it from to have it resized.  I went from a 9.75 to a 7.5 so far BUT the lady said to wait on resizing because its stressful on the structure of the ring and its better to do it as few times as possible so you don't loosen any stones.  I thought that was nice of her to tell us, as she could have just charged us, done it, and not given a damn.  And then again in 6 months.  So anyway, I thought I'd let that be a warning to anyone thinking about resizing halfway through their weight loss.  I wasn't going to resize any other rings, just that one, but now I have a ring guard instead (which she gave me for free, as well as cleaning my ring, can't beat that customer service), at least for a few more months.  Its not as comfortable because the ring is so big on my hand, but at least I can wear it again.  For a while I wore it on my first finger but its too big for that now so it had been put away for about 4 months.

Hi Jen, Glad you got your ring back!!  I recently started wearing mine again after about a year because it had gotten too small. I can't wait till it's too big!!

I hear ya on that one!  I've been wearing a ring guard (little plastic cheap thingy from Walmart) because I didn't want to resize too soon.  This can be a costly journey....having to replace practically everything from rings to bras to shoes!  I wore a 7 WW sneaker and now my foot literally "sloshes" around inside the shoe...time for new ones!  Oh well...I don't dare complain.  HUGS  Jeanine

I waited 3 years to get all of my rings done and it was great, like having all new jewelry. it did cost a bunch, but well worth it!

I can't even wear my wedding/engagement rings, too big!  I'm going to wait until I lose at least 100 to get any sizing done.  But the good news, i've lost 1/2 a shoe size!  got some new NB cross-trainers today (zappos.com), lys
