Send me lots of good thoughts from 1-2! I'll be up in front of 40+ faculty members and all of my fellow cell and molecular biology students, boring the heck out of them. And send lots of good thoughts to my butt also, because it will be sitting from 9am to 5pm listening to boring presentations. I am taking the donut pillow and expect to be squirming from one cheek to the other repeatedly and/or taking lots of bathroom breaks!
I don't know what I'll eat, its catered. I hope its not something bad because I present AFTER lunch. I'll probably have a protein bar or something like that on hand just in case.
Ugh, this sounds like the science version of giving recitals! I was a music major my first year in college, and our final exams each semester were recitals. I played flute, oboe, piano, and sang, thus I had to give four recitals each semester. Keep in mind that I hate performing. Not only that, we were required to attend each other's recitals. Boo. Nothing like an oboe recital at 8 AM on finals week to make you regret your choice of major.
I will think excellent thoughts for you and your tender a$$, and here's hoping they have something for lunch that won't kill Thundercles. I'm almost afraid to ask for fear that my brain will dissolve, but I must know -- what is the title of your presentation?
Good luck!

The title was Comparative Genomics Among Vibrios. It went ok, I was much more nervous than usual about speaking. I have a lot more anxiety these days
Afterwards I had my friend take me home, but first we stopped for drinks, uh oh.

Lots of good energy coming your way from Cleveland, Jen! I wish you and your a$$ good luck today. Long meetings/presentations in uncomfortable chairs make me feel like I've died and gone to the very hot, flaming place...
Good plan to take a protein bar or something similar with you. I've always got one in my bag these days just in case.
Here's what's on my plate Friday - will update with final info later today or tomorrow.

I'm going to try to get back in the habit of posting my food - my time on the internet is kind of limited for now so it may be sporadic but I have got to get better control (candy and chocolate is becoming a BIG problem!) and I think this will help. So, here it goes:

lunch: WW homestyle chicken with green beans

I don't want to post my food today. Uh uh. No way. Oh ok. But I'm not proud of my choices.
B - 16oz vanilla soy plus fiber, 1 tsp ovaltine
L - catered from taco cabana
- 3 or 4 bites of borracho beans, 2 slices of chicken fajita meat (maybe an oz total) and about 15 tortilla chips with queso - I was nervous and the chips were all about being nervous, plus the queso was the only edible thing in the spread IMO
S - 2 very sizeable margaritas and 3 low fat chicken pot stickers from TGI Fridays with my new old friend Jenn (we are in the same year on our PhDs and have a billion things in common, she's like a skinny me, but we never hang out - even though we always say we should). I had a really good time, and the margaritas didn't hurt but I shouldn't have had them and I would have had a good time anyway. At least they eased the hiney pain momentarily because tylenol didn't do a darned thing all day! I was drunk -I opened the car door right into my face... seriously.
D - no idea, but definitely NOT taco cabana

Face is fine, margaritas were not low-cal nor sugar-free. I didn't dump, I have a headache now though!
