It's May Day, which can have a number of meanings depending on whether or not you are a Communist.   Anyway, I look forward to exercising today.  I ate two meals out yesterday and am seriously overstuffed.  A good exercise session ought to help a lot.  I also have aquacise later if the pool is back to its correct temperature. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

For today the 30th I went and did my workout at Curves!  May Day I am going to make sure to do the same thing as well as going swimming with my son.  He loves to swim , but sometimes loves the attention in the pool more (hopefully I will get a few laps in).  Jennifer

Jennifer, I think the storm that just hit us today in Colorado is headed your way, so I hope your swimming pool is indoors.  Of course, you Minnesotans are a hearty lot, so it may not matter! Glad to hear you enjoyed your workout.  How old is your son? Kix

How the heck did it get to be May already?  It seems like 2008 just got here - where does the time go???   I'm doing a 2-a-day at the gym - lower body strength training and core work at lunch, then 60 minutes of cardio after work.  My exercise specialist showed me some new core exercises yesterday, so I'm looking forward to working those things into my routine.  Some of them involve the stability ball and the BOSU; hopefully they won't also involve me falling off said pieces of equipment and landing on my a$$...   Good luck to everyone finding the time, energy and motivation to move it today!!! I'm always unhappy at the beginning of each year -- not sure why, I've been like that since I was a tot.  From January through early March, it's like climbing uphill just to get through each day.  Once I get into March, things are fine.  It's not SAD, either, I had the same problem when I lived in Hawaii!  Go figure.  I'm glad it's May already, although it does feel like it's just speeding by, doesn't it?  Do share some of the new things you learned from your trainer! Today was lower body workout period and a crappy one at that.  This studying stuff is for the birds. I'm exercising my brain but not my body.  I'll get some relief after Saturday though. I was bummed to find out that my trainer from personal fitness left the Y and I didn't know about it.  I went in to ask the Exec Dir about her since her pic was gone off the wall and I got the whole story.  She moved to Daytona Bch with her new hubby.  I've got her cell phone number to call her up and chew her out!  She was a burst of sunshine in my always very cloudy mornings...especially in the beginning.

Well, I guess it's a bit of a stretch to ask if you can't just drive to Daytona to continue training with her, since it's 400+ miles from Pensacola.  The good ones always leave!  I have to share a Florida-related story:  I lived in Tallahassee for a year while working with the feds.  There were four of us assigned there for a year, none of us were overly familiar with Florida.  We got the bright idea to drive down to Orlando for the day to go to Epcot.  Joke was on us, we didn't realize until well into our journey that we were looking at @ 5 hours on the road each way. Ah, tourists!  Just kidding.  That's a long drive from Tally.  I lived there for 4 months and could not stand it. My hubby quit his job and we moved back to P'cola.  Love it here and won't leave ever.

Tallahassee wasn't a good fit for me, either.  I appreciated the opportunity, but I was glad to leave.  If I had to live in Florida, I'd choose Pensacola or maybe Tampa. Talk about tourists!  I'm originally from California, and I was at a conference in Los Angeles at an airport hotel.  One of my colleagues from out of town was really excited about taking a walk to the beach.  I was a bit puzzled.  He said, "I looked at a map and the beach is just across the way."  I asked him, "You do know that you'll have to walk across the runways at LAX to get to the beach on foot, don't you?"  The look on his face told me he didn't factor in that little item!  Kix

I should have plenty of time to go to the gym today.  I'll do 10min treadmill, full body circuit training, and maybe 20 more minutes on the treadmill.  I hereby declare that I am giving up on the elliptical.  I am not sure what my problem is but I think its because I'm so short.  Its like stepping up on a really high step over and over again.  I think its much harder on my knees than the treadmill, it makes my legs burn too fiercely, and my heart rate goes off the charts in just a few minutes, and my feet go numb in about 3 minutes.  Its just too much right now, my knees are both killing me today.  Its not an ergonomical machine for me at all.
