Good online site to monitor calories/protein-what do you use and why do you like it?

I have been trying to keep track of protein, water intake and calories using paper and pen, but quite honestly I am more of a computer type of person.  If you use an online program to track this stuff could you tell me which program and why you like it? Thanks all!

I use fitday.com. I've used it for a couple of years and it really works for me - it's free and has lots of foods already programmed in. there is also the option to put in your own custom food if you want, I've done that with lots of foods that I eat often (frozen dinners, special meals I cook, etc). I know there are others out there too, hopefully someone will chime in on what they use as well!

I use the dailyplate.com - of all the sites I've tried (fitday, calorieking, sparkpeople) I like dailyplate the best.  It has a ton of foods in the database and you can add more.  Its also the only one I found that has foods from our local grocery store brand, so that was handy for me.  I also like the weight tracker, and the water tracker.

I use software from calorieking.com for my PDA.  It's very similar to what's available at fitday.com and sparkpeople.com, but since I already had a PDA (Palm Tungsten E), I figured I might as well use it for keeping track of what I eat as well.  I like it because it's convenient for me, as I don't want to have to be online to track my food.  Plus, I can still track when I travel even though I may not access to a computer.  I've been using this program for over 2 years now and I know it's helped me get to where I'm at, and it will help me learn to maintain as well.   Good luck finding something that works for you!!! I use my-calorie-counter.com   and have been so for about 2 years.  I would try each one out for a day or two to see how each works for you

Good question!  I was going to ask it myself.  I'm glad you did first.  I checked all the sites rec'd here and found my-calorie-counter.com to be the best for what I want.  It seemed to have the best database for foods, too.  Hope you find one that works for you!  Bethany
