Listening to Van Morrison this evening (Into the Mystic). I haven't done formal gym activity in a few days due to the excellent weather, and I noticed this weekend that my knees were more sore than usual while walking.  This means I need to get back to the gym and do treadmill/elliptical and the quads machines. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

I got to the gym at O'DarkThirty and apparently they've decided to re-arrange things some over the weekend and then quit in the middle of it.... so all the machines were moved around and left in weird places.... LOL I still managed 20 mins on the elliptical and 30 mins of upper body weight training.....

Don't you hate that?!  It annoys me when I go to the rec center or to Ballys and find stuff rearranged. Throws me off my routine for a few days until I get reacclimated. Kix

I've noticed that my knees get sore too sometimes when I'm not exercising as much.  They also bother me sometimes when the weather is changing - I'm beginning to feel like a human barometer!  I'm planning for a 2-a-day today - upper body strength training and core work at lunch, then 60 minutes of cardio after work.  I haven't had time to stick as closely to my usual workout routine the past few weeks, and I can definitely tell a difference.  This week looks a little better - hopefully things will go as planned and I'll be feeling better by the end of the week... My knees are killing me today after all the walking on the uneven surface at the Tree Farm.  I definitely must get back to my gym work, especially the quad machines and the elliptical. Kix

had my spinning class this morning - that's always a good workout. I love the instructor, he's kind of a cross between yoda and Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Add into the mix that he loves to throw out all sort of inspirational sayings (such as "find inspiration in yourself, not only in others") and that seals the deal for the coolest instructor there. He also has a nice ass, which is kind of fun to watch in those bike pants I'm still struggling with my asthma, having a hard time breathing when my heart rate gets up there. Hopefully I will get it under better control.

Hm, I haven't seen many nice azzes at the rec center.  Most of the guys there are old, or soccer dads with bony girl behinds.  At Ballys, I'm too busy keeping track of my routine to notice the dudes there, perhaps I ought to take a second look!    Is there anything the doctor can give you to help your exercise-induced asthma?  What a bummer. I did an hour on the treadmill Sat and Sun.  I may skip today, or I may do the same thing, or possibly less treadmill and some circuit training.  I am up to 2.6 miles in an hour on the fat burning program (varying inclines).  I never thought I'd make it to 2 miles or to an hour on the treadmill.  Awesome!  I am trying really hard not to put my hands on the rails, but I get nervous with my bad ankles and bad sense of balance.  I don't lean on the rail or anything but I usually have to have one hand resting on it or I get wobbly.  Yesterday I probably did 5 min total no hands, going to just try to slowly increase my comfort level with that because I need to work on my balance badly.

I hold on to the rails because the sensors are there and I like the treadmill to tell me whether or not my heart is beginning to implode.  I've tried doing the treadmill hands-free and just do not trust my knees on it.  I can do it for short periods of time, but not at a clip. Your exercise is really progressing quickly!  I am impressed. Kix

Since I ditched work today in lieu of doing homework for school and getting ready for finals, I didn't go to the gym this morning.  I went with hubby after he got home from work.  Did 1 hour on upper body strength training only tonight.  The cardio machines were all taken except for the bikes and I don't like to see my butt hanging over the edge of the seat! I hate going in the evening.  It's so crowded and it's like a meat market.  All the guys are looking at the girls and checking out to see who they are bigger or fitter than.  All the girls are checking out the guys and looking at the other girls to see who their guys are checking out. Me...I just do my thing.  There were some really nice bodies in the gym tonight and I didn't mind the change in the age demographic, but morning is definitely the better time for me. Tomorrow will just be lower body and I'll get a decent amount of cardio in too.
