Melted My Credit Card Today!

Lane Bryant is having a 40% off sale this weekend, so I went a bit crazy.  Attractive blouses in bold colors for $11 each?  Bought four of 'em in different colors.  Tried on a black pant outfit that looked sharp on me (and I have my job interview on Wed), so I bought it, too.  Of course, this meant a new pair of shoes, so off I went to Nordstrom Rack and found an attractive pair of Munro dress shoes for pants at 1/3 of the normal price.  Bought 'em!  Oh, and Sharper Image is closing out its stores and I found a leather portfolio for $10.  Bought it, too.  I think I've done my part to stimulate the economy!  Kix

I immediately read this post when I saw the title because I could not wait to read what had to be an interesting story of how you melted a credit card.  I should have guessed though - that you had endulged in a little retail therapy!  Good for you.

Yep... I hit Lane Bryant too... 5 tops and a nightgown... then hit the fine jewelry store for a new ring... then on the way out of the mall, another jewelry store lured me in with a sale on an opal ring... my birthstone... GOOD GOD - please tell me there's an end to this! I think I need a NEW habit!

Way to shop Kix!  It figures, I buy an outfit there last week for my presentation this Friday, and now I could have gotten it that much cheaper.  Grrr.  I may have to swing by there today for a bra or something though.  Or another shirt.    Edit in=it  I swear this thing changes what I write, I am not such a bad typist, I KNOW!

Bleeping Lane Bryant - I spent hours and hours in the last two weeks, in 4 stores, looking for an outfit for Fri.  I finally found it at Lane Bryant last week, after trying on like 50 things and going back twice.  I still have to hem the pants though.  I am hanging out in the 22-28 range so I had to try on 22/24 and 26/28 of everything, double.  I broke a sweat trying on things there last week.  Now they have a sale, I have no money, I go in anyway, I pull only 22/24s and try everything on and EVERY SINGLE damn thing fit and looked super cute???  I had like 15 things!  That NEVER happens.  So then I had to decide what I really wanted and what was the best deal.  I ended up with a bra (thank goodness, I am down another cupsize and bra size - ugh, changing bras once a month is getting pricey, but I just can't abide bras that don't fit.    I bought two shirts, one is a gray t-shirt with a v-neck and elbow length sleeves (hallelujah! I hate all the itty bitty sleeves in style) and the other is a babydoll.  Babydolls are definitely the best style for me.  Then I bought two dresses, one is a simple blue cotton knit everyday dress and the other is a slightly nicer (and  very on sale) black dress that could be everyday but could be fancier.  I plan to wear it on my birthday and in Boston when we go out for our one fancy night.  I also bought a pair of sleep shorts that say "sassy" on the assy for hubby he said I had to get something he'd like if I went shopping.  Stupid friggle fraggle Lane Bryant.  It was too hard to choose.  And my credit card is half melted (I put half on debit and half credit so I didn't do as much immediate damage to our bank account).

Me too!!! Step away from the card!! I bought about 4 or 5 tops & a pair of sandals!!! I did my shopping on-line which was dangerous - I followed up that with a stop at Jessica London & Woman Within for a few more tops & a couple pairs of jeans... then off to Surefit for slipcovers for my living room furniture!! YIKES!!!  Enjoy your new purchases & good luck on your interview!! Cece

I also opened a new charge account at LB, so I saved an even bigger hunk o'cash.  I wanted to go back again today, but figured I'd bought everything they had in stock that I liked.  I plan to go back the end of May to use my "Real Women Dollars" to buy some jeans that weren't part of the 40% sale.
