More Surgery for Me, Too.

I saw an ENT specialist today in Boulder because I have been worried about my nose.  Deviated septa run in my family (thanks, Dad).  All my siblings had corrective nose surgery eons ago, and at my advanced age, I'd thought I dodged the bullet.   Lately I've noticed that my left nostril basically does not work.  When I actually looked carefully at my nose, I realized the left side is almost completely pinched shut.    So, off to the doctor. I liked this doctor.  I liked the nice new office building, too, but it's too far from my house to consider switching all my care up there.  He looked up my nose, shoved all sorts of implements up my nose, and determined that there is a structural problem with my nose that needs to be corrected.  He recommended getting the paperwork started now so I have more flexibility as to when I want it done.     He must have seen the look on my face, because he said, "Now, your siblings have probably told you all sorts of horror stories, but you'll be totally unconscious during the procedure and we don't pack the insides of noses any more."  Whew!  My biggest fear was having to be semi-conscious while they broke my nose in order to fix it.  It sounds like they use the same kind of anesthesia they used when I had Blobby removed, which wasn't bad at all.   So, surgery for me.  Don't know when -- I'd kind of like to get it over with, so if there's a spot on the calendar for June, I might get it done then. Sorry Kix...don't you ever wonder when it will ever end... Do you have problems breathing.?. Hopefully you will feel much better. I guess it is better to get it over with as soon as possible. Maybe you can request a new nose, I hear all those actress' who get nose jobs, sayi its because of a deviated septa.. I think Jennifer Anisten just used that excuse.. You may come out of this awhole new you...!!! Lynn

Oy Kix that does not sound like much fun. But not being able to breathe through one half of your nose is not so good either. Let us know when you go in.

Well, that explains the extremely loud snorking sounds I've heard coming from the general Denver area all this time....  It's Kix's blocked up schnozz....   Bummers about needing another surgery, but congrats on finding ENT who you like, and that advances in surgical techniques means you don't have to be awake or walk around with giant cotton balls sticking out your nose!!!  Let us know when you get a date - we'll all be pulling for you!!!
