Hard work gets noticed
This morning during my workout the Director of the Y came over and asked me if I would be willing to talk to a new member about my experiences at the Y. I looked at her with a puzzled face and she elaborated. New member, late 30's has over 100 pounds to lose and her doctor gave her the typical warnings that there are bad things health wise in your future if you don't correct this path that you are on.
Andrea said that I am inspiration to them that I can come in there 5 days a week and hit it like I do. What's amazing to me is that they are coming to me as a still morbidly obese woman and asking me to help inspire a new member. I know it's about relatability but believe me, I am no cheerleader. It just makes me feel really good to know that people are noticing my hard work.
That really helps when your body is still so big that the losses are hard to notice.

I bought a size 20 skirt this weekend! I'm going to take a pic of me in it and post it on the site. Everything fits so differently so I have to try on everything and the sales clerk said that all they had was a 20. It's one of those cute, knee length, spring A-line skirts and it's adorable! So exciting!
Hooray! I always feel weird when people at the rec center point out my improvements. Of course, they saw me when I first started going there and was still 400+ lbs, could barely walk, and used supplemental oxygen. All I could do in the beginning was arm bike.
Congrats on the skirt! I'm not sure I'd be excited about buying a skirt (I have never liked dresses, skirts, etc), but it sounds like you are darn pleased about it!
We're looking forward to seeing the photo!
