This is what happens if I don't open the gym before I go to bed the night before.  Sorry about that. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

Dang it!  Fitness Director got on the elliptical next to me today.  Not that I don't push myself to keep my heart rate in range to make sure I'm getting the best workout, but you know when she's next to me, ugh.  Oh well.  I purposed to have a good workout today too!  And I did. I was talking to my Trainer when I was in my 3 month Personal Fitness program about where I needed to keep my heart rate at for maximum benefit because I was curious if it had anything to do with weight or just age.  She confirmed that I should be between 140-150 and I am usually at about 148-153 so I'm doing good. I was sharing that I don't like to do my crunches at the Y because I feel like everyone is looking at the fat girl like that can't believe that I'm there working out.  Plus I make a bunch of noises when i do the crunches on the exercise ball.  Both my trainer and the Fitness Director said not to worry about anyone looking at me because I am more consistent and work harder then most of the people in the Y!  Kudos to me.  That felt really good to hear from them. So, today I did 40 minutes on the elliptical at a level 5 on the random hill program.  Felt good and I was good and sweaty when I was done. Ew, Aunt Flo is coming too so I'm not sure how that's going to affect my strength training tomorrow.  She comes hard when she comes.  I didn't gain any weight though which made me feel really good.

It's funny how one's heart rate varies according to machine.  When I do treadmill, it says my heart rate for fat burning should be 111.  On the elliptical and the in-line skating machine, 111 doesn't even register in the mid-range for heart rate.  Go figure! Aunt Flo sneaks up on me with no warning.  The closest thing I get to a warning is a really pissy mood the night before she shows up.   I did extra crunches today and my abs certainly feel it.  Ow! Some machines give you you 50% max heart rate, others 65% and a few I've noticed as high as 85% - you can usually change the number to whatever you prefer.

Hi, Kix - better late than never!   I didn't go to the gym at lunch today - had a goodbye lunch w/ one of my co-workers instead.  But I'm going to the gym after work for 60 minutes of cardio.  It's hard to go when the weather is so nice, but I can't walk fast enough to get my heart rate up if I go outside.  And I have compression of the cartilage in my knees, so running isn't a good option for me.  So I'll stick with the after work cardio routine at the gym for now... Have a great afternoon!!!! Kellie

I can't run, either.  I'd sure like to have it as an option, but it won't happen unless the Knee Fairy shows up and grants me the kneecaps of a teenager. How was the luncheon? Kix

Blame blame blame :P I am headed to the gym, gonna see if the streamline hairdo makes me walk faster on the treadmill.  I'm doing 30min treadmill and weight training.

If the shorter hair didn't help you walk faster, at least it's easier when sweating on the treadmill.  Kix
