In two months I am going to Boston. I know this means I have two more months of weight loss between me and that airplane, but I am already nervous, as always, about traveling fat. I was wondering if anyone of you knew at about what size pants you started fitting ok into airplanes? I am currently in a 26 jean if it doesn't have stretch, and a 24 if it does. I'm fairly confident I'll be in 24s still at that point, maybe 22s if I'm lucky. I don't have to fit GREAT but I'd like to at least be able to not be a menace to the person next to me (husband) who already is very crowded for space himself @ his height.
Oh girl - I traveled at 370 somethin' and it was tight but doable. I think you should be fine. I know how hard it is to spill over on the seat but I would much rather spill over on hubby then a stranger! Hey - you love me - you deal with it! LOL!!!
I think you're be fine. And my fam is coming in less then 2 weeks so I should be traveling to San Antonio sometime after that - I will definately bring you some clothes! You go girl!

Cool! I look forward to meeting you & family :)
Lift up the arm rest between you and DH and you will be fine. I traveled at size 34 and fit with the arm rest up. Don't get exit rows, the arm rest doesn't come up. It will be cozy, but I did it next to strangers when I was much, much larger. Have fun, Loris

Dunny, I think we have the same build (basset hound legs, T-rex arms) and when I wore at 24/26 I fit in the seat just fine. I can't remember if I needed a seat belt extender then, I think it depended on the airline. You should be able to sit next to your spouse comfortably! Have fun in Boston, I haven't been there in 20 years but still remember how much fun I had. Lots of great places to walk, too.

I know when I was a 30-32 I purchased 1st class seats the middle did not come up and the seats were more than comfy, I did need an extender though, I bet you'll fit just fine by looking at you, you probably don't need an extender at all. If you get a straight flight you will have a newer plane and they are much better! more comfy. with longer seat belts. Ask for the extender as you pass the flight attendent and then hand it back with a smile when you don't need it! I bet you will be in 22 by the time you go! will you be there long? Will you have any free time? I live about 4 hours from Boston and would love to meet you. Jerry and I would take a drive over if you'll be there over a weekend day.

We come in Sunday afternoon (arrive 12:30) and leave on Friday evening so the only time on a weekend I would be around is Sunday evening - I'm imagining that would be a little tough for you to do. I will be in Rochester in October though too, and I think we are renting a car to go to Cooperstown. Are you anywhere near there?
We are not quite doing a straight flight, but close enough - we fly to Houston and then to Boston, so hopefully it will be a newish plane. I am excited about going to Fenway Park, other than that I will be at a conference. I am also anxious about fitting into the seats at the park - they are notoriously small. Hopefully all of this concern is nothing. The last time I flew I bought two tickets - I probably could have managed with one I think but I wasn't totally sure about it so I bought two. I did need an extender then, I don't think I will need one now. I am a nervous flyer in general, being fat doesn't help. I used to fly and hide the fact that the seatbelt didn't fit by putting my jacket in my lap. Real smart Jenn.
You'll fit fine! I'm currently in 24/26 and have had no problems, besides just being a tight fit. The only time I've needed a belt extended was on a TINY ass European jet!
By June, you'll be down enough to fit just fine!
