Just checking this board out. Am I the only LapBander?

Hello all.  I have been looking for a place for support.  I have been feeling depressed lately and need some encouragment.  I know I had my reasons for choosing the lapband and now I am becoming frustrated for those very reasons!  AHHH!  I wanted something slower and now I am going crazy because it is going slow.  I see so many people who had surgery around the same time as me and they are doing so much better.  I don't regret the choice I made, but I just wish things would get moving already.  Just wanted to make myself known to you all.  I would like to wish you luck and continued success in your weight loss journies.  I hope someday to be in your shoes.

Hi, and best wishes in your journey too.  You are doing great!  It doesn't have to happen fast as long as it happens, right?

Hi, Angie!  You made the choice that was right for you based on all the information you gathered before having surgery.  With a band, your loss will be slower, but if you follow the guidelines, you will lose.  I know it's hard not to compare yourself to others, but we all lose at different rates regardless of the type of surgery we had.  Can you focus on where you've come from?  the progress you have made?  how much better you feel?  things you can do now that were much harder before being banded?   And although there are few folks in this forum who chose to be banded, I think you'll still find this group super-supportive.  Like you, we all have longer journeys than those who started out with much less to lose, so we understand where you're coming from.... Keep us posted on your progress, and feel free to ask questions -  Kellie
