I am opening the gym for anyone who wishes to post. I actually went to the gym today again so I just HAD to post
25 minutes on the treadmill at between 2.6 and 2.8 at variable inclines (calorie burning program) I made it 1.2 miles and burned 250 calories (plus a 5 minute cool down after)
I can't believe I am actually enjoying the gym, this is a MAJOR breakthrough for me

That's pretty fast, especially if your knees bother you. I've used a recumbent bike for a few years off and on at home and I usually ride about that speed or a little slower but my knees generally don't bother me. Way to go!
I've noticed the bike at my gym is a much better workout than the one at home - its smoother and it really isolates my thighs a lot more. Probably because I took the pedal straps off the one at home so I don't get the upward pull, just the push down on the pedal. At the time it was because I was over the weight limit of the bike and didn't want to get my feet stuck if I needed to pull them out of the straps when the bike broke. Lovely.
Anyway, I hope you keep posting here! WTG on the hard work :)
