Good morning, Marge, and congrats on the news about the new grandbaby that's in the oven, so to speak!  Another one to love and spoil - what a blessing.   We had a non-traditional Easter meal at my house too - corned beef and cabbage.  We'd bought it for St. Patrick's Day, but never got around to cooking it.  I'd never made it before (one of my girlfriends does most of our cooking), but it turned out great.  Nice lean corned beef, a few potatoes and carrots, and a small head of cabbage.  Oh, and some cornbread.  Yum.

Starting weight:  396
Surgery weight:  386
Last week:  198.1
This week:  190.0

I'm sure most of what I lost was water weight, as I was on vacation the week before, eating like crap, and not exercising.  I'm also a little puffy today from the corned beef and cabbage, but definitely feeling better than I did last week.  I feel much better when I stick with my normal routine of eating right and exercising regularly - amazing how that works, eh?

I do love corned beef and cabbage, and I was super happy with the way my corned beef turned out.  It was flavorful and tender, just the way I like it.  And the piece we bought wasn't too fatty, so it had a great flavor without being greasy.  Yum.  And the cabbage is great boiled in the water the beef cooked it; picks up that great flavor - delicious.   My mom used to make cabbage, noodles, and bacon when I was growing up.  When I was really young, I refused to eat it, but after I got a little older I just loved it.  I don't make it often because of the processed carbs in the noodles and the fat in the bacon, but I usually make one batch in the summer when cabbage is cheaper than dirt.   And a friend of mine just gave me his recipe for unstuffed cabbage - this stuff is so delicious, it almost made me cry.  Plus, it's actually made with healthy ingredients.  Yum, yum, yum -  Kellie

Morning Marge, CONGRATULATIONS Grandmama!! I just love babies and I have to admit I get the "baby twinges" ALOT ...hubby took care of it a long time ago though. As for Easter dinner the family wanted chicken fingers so I obliged them and made onion rings and oven fries too. We didn't do a whole lot of candy this year and I made sure to buy things I don't like. I only bought one piece of chocolate for each of them..chocolate is my big problem.  HAVE A GREAT MONDAY Everyone!! Hugs, Jamie  April 06 297 Today 168
